Never mind, just found the system log (unix skills are awfully rusty).
Jul 23 15:59:24 Macintosh-3 Samsung_SCX_4x16_Series: Launch of "Samsung_SCX_4x16_Series" failed: the PowerPC architecture is no longer supported.
Good thing I've still got an old XP partition I guess. Sigh.....

Have the same problem with SCX-4100
So this means we can't anymore print on Samsung printers from os x lion?

As long as Samsung comes up with a driver update coded for the Intel64 architecture, you will.

Just got a note from Samsung saying they expect to have a driver ready in August. All is not lost apparently.

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded and installed the driver and picked out a printer at random (since my SCX-4216F isn't listed). No joy, just printed a blank sheet. Guess I'll just have to wait for the official Samsung driver.

Hi! Try to install Splix-2.0.0 and choose driver SCX-4500 SpliX V. 2.0.0. It works with SCX-4100 - really

Thanks for the tip. Since there weren't any SCX printers in the list of supported printers I didn't look for them. However, thanks to you, I found an SCX-4200 SpliX V.2.0.0 (mine is an SCX-4216F). Worked like a charm.

Great! But, do you have information: "SpliX Cannot get input slot information." ? What does it mean? It prints but whats this? :-)

Alfter a update from snow leopard to lion a have problems to use mu printer scx 4216f

When I connect the printer via LAN, it prints ok but brings the message 'SpliX cannot get input slot information'. If I connect it directly to the USB port on my iMac it doesn't print and gives me the following message instead:
'SpliX Invalid PPD file version: SpliX V. 2.0.0 but the PPD file is designed for SpliX V. 1.1'
I think these questions might be better answered in a SpliX forum. In my case, the input slot info message is harmless so I haven't bothered to go to the SpliX forums.

I got last week the lion update (throught hardware up to date program) and my SCX-4100 laser printer is not working anymore. With Splix I got it working.
Someone knows when Samsung will get the driver updates?
I mean is okay, when the printer is printing, but I would like to have the orginal drivers to scan to.

Any update on drivers for Lion with a Samsung CLX-3160FN? I tried splix and various splix drivers above but all give error about input slot and the printer spits out a page to say use proper driver.
