Have you by any chance subscribed to a community? If your getting email notifications every 5 minutes it must be for more than one thread? I have noticed that is something that a number of people have done by mistake and so don't realize that they need to stop that as well. Its the only other thing I can think of. It is in the Actions box on the top right corner when you first go to the community in particular.

I'm like Groucho Marx -- I'd never be a member of a community that would accept me as a member.

I am not subscribed to any threads. Since it's happening only with one thread, this is a goof originating on Apples server.

Did you read laverne's moms post carefully? Look to see where they are coming from. Many people (me included) have subscribed to E-mail notifications from an entire community. Changing the parameters in "my stuff" will not stop those from coming.

I checked your notifications in the console and you didn't have any in the list. I went ahead and cleared them again just in case. Let me know if you are still seeing the problem.

I'm not sure if what you did caused the following, but I looked and discovered my email notifications were all reset to YES. So I set them all back to NO and we'll see what happens.
I'm now certain that it's ONE defective thread doing this. Here are all my settings in a photo --
-- please tell me if I've set something wrong or a setting itself is missing.
Comment: A super easy work around in such situations would be allowing the email address associated with my profile to be altered by ME. I'd have just turned it to nonsense and have been done with it.
By the way, it may be fixed now. I'll wait an hour and if no new emails, you did it.

Yup. It's dead. I removed my MAIL rule and nothing is coming through.

Ok, great to hear!

Weird. Is this a system-wide problem? I too have the same problem, and am definitely not subscribed to any community - I just checked now. I also updated the preferences multiple times, with no luck. I get a huge number of emails every day, and it's flooding my mailbox. Screenshot of the prefs screen being updated again, below.
Oddly, some prefs appear to be used by the system. The last option (include body contents in watch emails) marked "no" is a rule that's clearly observed, since I get no details of each post in the mails. This looks like something flaky with the discussion boards. What gives?

Edit: Looks like there are two places to manage email notifications. Your Stuff -> Profile -> Manage email notifications, and Your Stuff -> Preferences -> Email Notification Preferences. I just made sure everything has been cleared out, and will watch my inbox.
This is very non-intuitive. I'd expect one place to manage all email notifications.

Please refer to the tutorial on Managing email subscriptions. This should guide you through how to remove any email notifications that you are currently subscribed to.
