I have exactly the same problem.  Running Windows XP with Firefox browser.  Hardware meets minimum requirements and broser is working.

Was syncing iPhone and was prompted to update to latest version of iTunes 10.4.  Did that, and now ITunes opens, but won't connect to the iTunes store, nor will any of my Apple devices sync.  I have run through all troubleshooting suggestions from Apple website without any success.

Is this a Windows PC or Mac?

Make certain that in your internet setting through control panel that you do not have a proxy server set up, I know from calls that I get that updaing the version of iTunes will inadvertently check this in your internet setting options.

If you cannot access the iTunes on your device, check and make certain that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network or are connected to 3G, sometimes the device will inadvertently switch between the two, I am on iTunes right now and everything is fine.

I am on a wired network, using my Xfinity cable wired directly through my router hard wired to my computer.

This problem is REAL and needs to be fixed now.  It is not us, it is you.

Using Windows XP.  Problem arose immediately after upgrading to latest version of iTunes; nothing else on the computer changed.  That, plus number of similar events now being reported by users makes me virtually certain problem is in the iTunes upgrade.  Is Apple acknowledging this yet?  By the way, I have tried each troubleshooting suggestion from Apple support site and several from threads in discussion.  No help

They need to start looking within the latest upgrade.  Blaming the users may be a necessary troubleshooting step, but they should look at the upgrade on a parallel track or they are wasting valuable time.

Spotify, Amazon.com is breathing down their neck.  Get to work Apple.

The problem is the Itunes upgrade.  I had access to the Itunes store before downloading the upgrade on a Windows 7 computer.  Re-started computer to make changes load and VOILA no ITUNES store but radio and all others work.  Apple, time to look hard or you will look very bad!!!

Ok found a way to fix it.  Remove Itunes from your computer.  Go to Itunes from your web browser.  Download Itunes 10.4 all over again and then it will work.  Somehow the upgrade download they feed you automatically is flawed.  Hope that helps everyone.

Strike one.  Followed these instructions to the letter.  Same problem.  The method with which you upgrade does NOT affect this issue.  Brand new download from website had EXACT same issue, even after uninstalling iTunes first completely.  I rebooted computer first, too, so save that suggestion.

Time to look at the LATEST UPDATE.  IT IS FLAWED!

exact same issue with me. I have deleted itunes, and reloaded twice. Once direct from apple website next after downloading update to my computer. Checked firewall settings, every other web application on my computer works.

This is a not my computer, it's the upgrade!

Fix it soon, and fix it right!!!!!!!

I have the same issue and it needs to be fixed correctly. I can get to the iTunes store to download apps, so I know I'm connected and authenicated. But I get a message "can't connect to iTunes Store" when I try to look at download history. This stinks.

This is more like what I'm seeing. It IS related to the recent upgrade:

    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15801250#15801250

Itunes & Ping load halfway then just blank screen with Apple Itunes logo.

Also, iphone wont sync. I left my phone for 10 hours, no change, itunes just locked and phone never synched.

    This  is major crap!
