My iPhone missing mms option!?

My husband purchased me an iPhone 4 from apple store unlocked so that we can use it with T-mobile. Everything works great except for the fact that i am missing the option to send pictures through mms. Please help!? we have checked all the possible options and nothings worked.

    T-Mobile is not an official iPhone carrier and not all iPhone features will be available.  iPhones require istalling carrier profile files in order to activate various features.  If T-Mobile doesn't provide the file to Apple to install via iTunes, you won't get features such as FaceTime and MMS.

     

    FYI, you also don't get 3G service with T-Mobile as their frequencies are not compatible with iPhones.

    Apple should do something more than just sell the phone for $700 and lie to me that EVERYTHING will work. Come reall??!

     

    Apple never said "everything will work" with T-Mobile or any other non-official carrier - just the opposite in fact.  Learn to research before you buy. 

     

    BTW, the "codes" that T-Moble gave  you never applied to iPhones as they know nothing about it.

     

    What's really amazing is that someone would spend $749 on a phone and then get cheap and use it on a carrier that isn't fully compatible.

    There is a solution to this problem.

     

    Download the Apple iPhone configuration Utility.  This is used by companies who have multiple phones that require set up for the company regulations.  Then after you install and run it you have to create a Configuration Profile and under the Advanced section you can enter that information that you are talking about and send the Profile to the phone.  As long as that profile is active you can use different carrier for intenet, which is essentially what you wish to do.  It is free, and it doesn't require a jailbreak.  I have heard success stories from various people involving this fix and it is nothing more than a profile you can create for yourself and load to your phone for preset configurations.  Parents can even use this for certain things as well to control the usage of the phones for children.  Good luck.

    The iPhone Configuration Utility remotely configures options on the iPhone, not the carrier.  If the carrier is not compliant with iPhone specs for a feature, the utility can't "force" it.

    I really don't want to tell you that you are wrong, but I am afraid you are.  In fact, when the iPhone updates came out at one point they hard coded them to no longer work with the Go-Phone network for ATT and if you put the paramters in with this application, you can force it to use the network that all other Go-Phones do even though it is coded to not work, so in short, yes you can.  If you have the correct information, and the phone actually supports the band, you can.  The same update that that kukla_oksanka is talking about is the same one that broke it for the Go-Phone if I am not mistaken.  Tech support won't support it very well because you are right, they can't send configurations to the phone.

     

    I know from experience because I have in fact helped a friend do this.  The information I have stated above worked for this when the phone wouldn't work otherwise because it didn't have the parameters needed to connect to the data network.  You could make calls and I beleive text, but the internet and mms messageing wouldn't work until we fixed the phone in this manor.

    Apparantly you are unfamiliar with T-Mobile USA which is not an official iPhone carrier and has been incompatible with several iPhone features since day one.  MMS has never worked properly with iPhones, not just with the last  update.  The Config Utility won't fix this.  This is not an issue with connecting to the data network.
