I've been unable to use Server Admin to connect to my secondary server after upgrading it to 10.7 server.  I downloaded the server app from the app store.  I've been unable to connect using that neither.  I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

Since upgrading to 10.7 I also am not able to connect/manage my server. I try connecting using same info as before update but can not connect/access my server.

I might be looking into something else but what version of os do you have on the client? I had to upgrade the client to lion to make it work.

I was running a OS X Server 10.6 Snow Leopard and then upgraded to OS X Lion. Since upgrade when I click on Server App and choose "Manage services on this Mac mini" I am unable to connect/manage. The screen just flickers.

    I just found my fix.

    Resolution

To check if servermgrd is loaded, see the output of this command in Terminal:

sudo launchctl list | grep -q com.apple.servermgrd && echo loaded || echo not loaded

If the output is "not loaded", load the com.apple.servermgrd job into launchd with this command:

    sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.servermgrd.plist

Very helpful. Any idea why servermgrd might not have been loaded? Your resolution fixed the same issue for me which appeared after I made some network IP assignment changes. I'm a bit green with OSX Server (and of course Lion in general) so any info or details on how you found the solution would be helpful. Thanks.
