I'm glad you find my disability amusing.

Just my weird sense of humor. We are still joking. The disability was my (sometimes) debilitating laziness.

    What? Not getting the reference.

HI B, I'm wondering if you've been using Jumpcut? I'm finding that the only way I can paste something in is from the Jumpcut menubar scissors icon, not from the "bezel," which is the little pop-up window that appears using Ctrl-Option-V. I can scroll through the clippings using the bezel, but I can't find any way to paste them in once I find the one I'm lookng for.

The way the clippings appear in the bezel is clearer than from the icon, especially if you've got a number of them. But with the bezel, I'm not seeing any way to "select" a clipping.

    Through a pop-up bezel
In any application into which you want to paste an item from Jumpcut's stack, press the hotkey to activate Jumpcut's bezel. (The default value for this hotkey is Control-Option-V.) A little window like the one you see when using the application switcher or the brightness controls will appear. While holding the modifier keys (for the default hotkey, this is the Control-Option combo), use the arrow keys to scroll through the stack.

When you've selected a clipping, Jumpcut will put it on the pasteboard and attempt to paste it into your application

I scroll through the stack with Ctrl-Option, but as soon as I put the focus on the Application into which I want to paste the clipping, the bezel disappears, and nothing happens in the Application, e.g. TextEdit.

Ugh! Keep the dust out of the iMac (and your lungs.)

I download & tried JumpCut. Could not copy & paste from the bezel. Did work from the pulldown.

Everything works with the bezel except the ability to copy the displayed clip to the application. That's a very large percentage of the code that works.

Thanks for trying. At least now I know it's not something I was doing. Still, very useful if only from the pulldown.

    Ok ... Bezel

    • sticky bezel on -- press return to put data in window
    • sticky bezel off -- hold down control + option  ( don't release ) ; press v ; use cursor keys to move selected item ; release control + option to put data in window

There was something on the web page about esc & return doing somethine. There was something about control + option doing something.

    Plus, 8+ hours of sleep.

!!! Now my clipper froze after using this software.  1st problem with clipper!!!  I guess i'll clean out prefs etc.

That does the trick! On my 10.6, return pastes the selection from the bezel. Where did you find that, or was it trial and error? Nothing about return in the documentation. BTW, on my 10.4, just getting the selection in view pastes it. No need to hit return. Many thanks for the tip. Sorry you got frozen trying to help out. Please get unfrozen.
