before I had this now instead of .6 its changed to .10, I saw other people posting before with this firmware level that had these problems so I am not sure this solved anything

    nothing here has changed

Mbacco, your message is too cryptic.

Do you mean KO as in knocked out (= no good) or OK (= fine).

And what does "AP is TC" mean.

If you want help tryo to be concise and clear even if English is not your native tongue.

Have downloaded 10.7.1 and my WiFi still drops out every few minutes. Still need to run pings to the router to keep the connection alive...

Well for what it is worth, I downloaded 10.7.1 and what issues I had with the wifi are fixed. I was thinking that some of my issues were Brighthouse but also the distance from the router. I say that because 2 computers that are the same in this house, one had issues  other did not. The computer that didnt was in the same room as the router. In my case Apple got it right.

I also had some issues with WIFI. Have a MBP, late 2010.

Problem was especially when Time Machine had been running while closing the lid. Upon waking up the Mac from standby wifi connection took very long.

This is what solved the problem for me: Resetting the System Management Controller.

You'll find info abut this here:

    Hope this might help you.

iMAC late 2010 - Failure of WiFi when waking from sleep.

Updated to 10.7.1 and WiFi started when waking from sleep. Shutdown the iMac and did a cold start taking me back to WiFi FAILURE when waking from sleep. Bottom line - 10.7.1 has not worked.

Check that the base station you are trying to renew the connection to after waking from sleep is at the top of the list in Preferred Networks under System Preferences - Networks - Wifi - Advanced - Wifi. if it is not, move it to the top of the list and try again. Also make sure Remember networks this computer has joined is checked.

    Let us know what happens.

L'aggiornamento 10.7.1 non ha risolto il problema: tutto come prima...il wi-fi non funziona. almeno sul mio Imac con wi-fi firmware Atheros 9280.

The 10.7.1 update did not solve the problem as before ... wi-fi does not work. at least on my iMac with Atheros wifi firmware 9280.

Setup as you outline since 10.7 and now 10.7.1 (see nipper123)

Enter sleep with a single press on the power button. Wakeup with a click on the Magic Trackpad - No WiFi.

Enter sleep by leaving the iMac to idle. Wakeup with a click on the Magic Trackpad - WiFi works.

Once WiFi is on have similar levels of performance as those in Snow Leopard. Fast, consistent and quality WiFi service. I have tried all the options appearing on this website and others. Simply, WiFi issues in Lion that never appeared in Snow Leopard.

10.7.1 has only been on my iMac for about 6 hours so I will be trying the various remedies again (ignoring the two clean installs that I will not repeat). For the moment avoid using the power button to enter sleep and all is well.
