Aug 17, 2011 5:37 AM in response to steevilby jeanfromscarborough,Twice now I have actually had to unplug my imac because it freezes up after I click on a video link. I can't use the mouse or the keyboard. Nothing....I know this can't be good for the computer. Anything advice?

Aug 17, 2011 12:08 PM in response to steevilby SethLyon,I had this problem too. An AppleCare rep gave me this fix, and it so far hasn't happened again.
1. Finder
2. Go > Computer
3. Mac HD
4. Library
5. Internet Plug-Ins
6. Trash Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt
7. Go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
8. Download Flash player, reinstall (close all programs first)
9. Empty trash
10. Reboot
Hope it helps.

Aug 17, 2011 12:16 PM in response to steevilby guppy77uk,All
Seems sensible that before anyone else says they too have this issue, they try the update that came out today as it appears to fix this issue. Won't do any harm to update flash also.
If you still have issues after that then there is more to worry about.

Aug 22, 2011 12:00 PM in response to steevilby hollynash,SOLUTION, for now... My brand new imac had this problem for the first month and after a few trips to the genius bar (they were clueless as to why it froze) i demanded a new one (thinking it was a lemon)... guess what? it freezes too!! after much research i found this: http://tidbits.com/article/12394
here is the issue described in detail.. lion is the problem. the answer is wait for the lion update in which apple has yet to acknowledge this issue and promise a future solution OR downgrade to snow leopard and wait to install lion after the problems are fixed... im going with erasing lion and reinstalling snow leopard since i dont have time to not work with videos on my computer...

Aug 22, 2011 12:31 PM in response to steevilby MacMyBlack,I too have the same issue. This is the worst software that I have ever bought in my life... it has slowed my mac lyk a old snail with an ulcer undr its stomak. Im ****** off frustrated n wat not.. the systm hangs. takes ages to open applications... the pain that I hv to go thru EVERYday is like my b%**$ sliding on a razor.. Im jus waitin for the weeknd to get this off n switch bak to my sweet Snow Leopard. My mac works like a windmill. i probably can supply power to the grid with the fan running so fast.

Nov 5, 2011 11:20 PM in response to steevilby surym,For me, it turns out to be my router that conflicts with my 2011 iMac I experienced freezes while watching streaming video or after waking up the computer. Genius Bar couldn't replicate the problem but my computer freezed again as soon as I tried it at home. So I turned off my Belkin wifi and used the cable. It no longer freezes despite hours of streaming video. I now use airport wifi and so far so good.

Feb 4, 2012 12:42 PM in response to steevilby JOE MACLEOD,Hey this has been driving me nuts - Any Youtube window would lock out my screen.
Updated to 10.7.3 and no help.
I use Google Chrome browser and the Adobe Flash thing did not need to be updated.
HOWEVER it did need to be updated for Safari.
Not sure if there's a true cause & effect here, but I updated my Flash via Safari, emptied the Trash, restarted, and now Youtube DOES NOT LOCK THE SCREEN in Chrome or Safari!
One side-effect was I lost the connection to my Wi-fi, but I was able to reconnect easily.
iMac 27-inch, Mid 2011
