This is horrific.

Never mind the silly naugahyde binding on the pseudo-book.  The lack of a side bar makes using Address Book very difficult with MIcrosoft Exchange and corporate directories.  I work in a large company with more than 50000 employees.  It's often the case that I need to send an email or otherwise search for someone in the Exchange Global Address list.

So, when I click on the bookmark thing that has nothing to do with bookmarks, select "Exchange Global Address List" and search for a name that has multiple results.. I see a list of names.  I then click on one of them to open it, and loose the context as the view flips.  Ah, so I find the one that I'm looking for, and now I want to drag that contact to my "Exchange Contacts" or perhaps "On My Mac" contact list, except they are not visible.  I have to click on the red bookmark thing that has nothing to do with bookmarks and swap to the other view, and then convince myself that the contact that's selected/highlighted is the one I want to copy.  But I can't be sure, because I can't see the details at the same time that I can see the target of the copy operation.

This is very, very poor user interface design.  I actually have a large screen, multiple monitors even, so I don't need a handheld, space-constrained optimized UI.

So, my question is if there is anyway to get the Directories, lists sidebar to be present all the time?
