I totally agree. The new UI looks ridiculous on a 24" iMac, and is distracting and useless in a professional context.

Add me to the list of people frustrated by this totally unecessary regression in usability and functionality.

+1, this is a feature downgrade from Snow Leopard.

Address Book and iCal have take huge steps backwards in Lion. The clean, elegant, simple, hardware department at Apple needs to have an intervention with the garish, superfulous, non fuctional UI department on this one.

Just used Address Book for the first time.
Difficult to use.
Then I opened iCal.
Thank goodness I use BusyCal.

This is exactly the reason why we didn't upgrade yet to MacOS X Lion on our corporate machines.

The user interface and usability of Address book has become awful. Apple really screwed this one up.

The Lion kindergarten address book is ridiculous. It is worse than a toy. I use the address book heavily, developing address groups all the time, but now cannot use the new address book. I actually cannot do my work. It is worthless. I moved to Lion only because Apple tombstoned my earlier version of Office, and am now trapped.
Instead of a 3-pane view; you have flip back and forth all the time and/or click on the top window tab
Inability to change font size
Stupid alphabetical headings (A, B, C), cluttering and limiting window size
I hope Apple simply provides an option to use the Snow Leopard address book.

I totally agree to the above and it is .. 2013 and we still have more or less the same issue.... I expect such simple things to work.... It's so essential, so simple but absolutely frustrating when it doesn't work.... Apple PLEASE fix that!!
