Jul 28, 2011 4:07 AM in response to John Blanchard1by dudyk,It's discussion about LBP 3010 and he work with CAPT 3.36 but in this CAPT not have driver for LBP2900.
Maybe somebody can add into new CAPT old driver for LBP 2900 from CAPT 1.7.

Aug 11, 2011 7:18 AM in response to dudykby Omarlux,I've tried this trick which was meant for OSX TIger, but surprisely it works in my freshly installed Lion..
- Find in Library/Printers/Canon the folder CAPT and rename it in CAPT_OLD (as you prefer).
- Download this folder [boolet.free.fr] .
- Copy the new folder into Library/Printers/Canon.
- Restart your mac.
- Download and install the last version of Canon Capt driver from here [software.canon-europe.com] .
- Restart your mac again.
- The printer shoud work.
Original idea is from nico of OpenPrinting user forum.. Thanks

Aug 14, 2011 10:58 AM in response to Omarluxby Wuelfele,@omarlux: This didn't worked for me....which Canon CAPT Driver do you used? The v1.70 for Snow leopard oder v3.36?
Is it possible that you upload your Printer folder?

Aug 14, 2011 2:31 PM in response to Wuelfeleby Omarlux,I used the links above, downloaded both files.. Yes, it's v1.70, I know it's an old driver, but it just works.. for me at least.. Good luck

Aug 16, 2011 9:25 PM in response to Omarluxby T.H.Minh,I tried to setup too, but it's not success. I follow link Library >> Printer >> Canon>> CAPT( new one), so here I can not find a driver file to install.

Aug 17, 2011 2:28 AM in response to Omarluxby Wuelfele,I triez it Staub with a fresh installed Lion, but it didn't worked again :( I'm confused about your success, Omarlux ;) At the moment I see no way to install the Canon LBP 2900, unfortunately. If someone has a solution, post it here, please.

Aug 17, 2011 7:25 AM in response to Wuelfeleby Omarlux,It was working well when I upgraded my Snow Leopard to Lion.. Then I reformatted my HD, did fresh installation of installed Lion, followed the above mentioned steps.. but I skipped the first step as no CAPT folder in newly installed Lion.. then follow exactly this
- Download this folder [boolet.free.fr] .
- Copy the new folder into Library/Printers/Canon. (root HD, not your home folder)
- Restart your mac.
- Download and install the last version of Canon Capt driver from here [software.canon-europe.com] .
- Restart your mac again.
Or anyone else have a solution that works for everyone.. Maybe I'm just lucky...
Thanks

Aug 20, 2011 1:29 PM in response to Omarluxby AlexeyU,Doesn't work for mee too :-(
Could you show list of installed printer drivers on your machine? After running 1.70 installer there nothing appeared in drivers list. Maybe there is a way to manually register this driver... Or may be it is a normal situiation and problem is somewhere else.

Aug 20, 2011 3:29 PM in response to Wuelfeleby AlexeyU,I'm trying to make pkg installer for automated patching now
-
Aug 20, 2011 3:59 PM in response to Wuelfeleby AlexeyU,Try this:
1) Download & Install official drivers for Lion v3.36 – http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0100359005.html
2) Download & Install this package – http://www.uzhva.com/temp/Canon_LBP3000_to_LBP2900_patcher.zip
3) Reboot
You probably will need to manually match your printer with LBP 2900 driver from drivers list.
