Please help,

I've just got a new MacBook Pro and have just moved apps from old BookPro to my new one.

When I launch Safari now I get a message saying the browser you are using doesn't support the community toolbar. What is that? I want it gone!

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

    Welcome to the forums!

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!

Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:

    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit

where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.

If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:

    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    Library/Application support/conduit plugins

Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

Klaus1, can you tell me how to uninstall the same toolbar on a snow leopard with safari 5?

    Same solution, vitolo.

    Just follow the paths.

I have tried these items are not in my path.. although I was able to follow the path on a macbook and a G5..

I can not find these items on the snow leopard (Safari5)

Just click on the HD icon in the right hand corner.  That starts with HD.

    So Klaus's paths would be:

    HD/Library/Application Support/Conduit

    HD/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader

    HD/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg

    HD/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg

    HD/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle

    HD/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit

If you don't have the other two in Snow Leopard, it's OK.  Find the others, get rid of them, restart Safari, and post back, OK?

Out of the list provided.. Only the first 2 were there. I deleted those, and it has worked!

    *HD/Library/Application Support/Conduit

    *HD/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader

    these others were not there:

    HD/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg

    HD/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg

    HD/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle

    HD/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit

Regardless, Bee... you save d the day. Thanks!

gretchen -- Your screen.  At least that's where mine is.  Double click on that, then follow the path I noted above.

    Here's a screenshot of mine:
