Aug 29, 2011 1:13 AM in response to dnklvby AlexeyU,Uhm, it seems that i forgot to include proper PPD file. Repacked the package: http://www.uzhva.com/temp/Canon_LBP5100_to_LBP5200_patcher_2.zip
I hope it will replace broken file and you will see 5200 in printers list. If no, i'll give instructions how to do it manually.

Sep 26, 2011 6:30 PM in response to dudykby gMinuses,Hi AlexeyU,
People seem to have a good time using your patch for LBP 2900. Thanks for your work.
However, my use case is a bit special and the patch didn't work for me. I didn't connect the printer directly to my mac. I connected it to a PC and share the printer on LAN. When I installed the CAPT and your patcher, added the shared printer on Windows network, chose LBP 2900 (UK) (there seems to be two LBP 2900 (UK) in the driver list) as the driver, and printed something, the printer did nothing. So I guess your patch doesn't support shared printers?
Could you update the patch so it will work with printers shared on Windows network? Thank you very much.

Thanks so much for providing that patch for the LBP2900; I was at the point of getting rid of my existing printer. It worked first time unlike the other solutions on these forums.

Oct 8, 2011 4:29 AM in response to AlexeyUby ozsurgeon,Thanks AlexeyU, your solution worked for me. (The previous method with the old 170 driver did NOT work with my new MacBookAir running Lion.)

Jan 16, 2012 12:38 AM in response to gMinusesby triciacastro,Same here! My office just installed a new printer in our office connected to a Windows XP PC, and I can't print. Although I could add the printer and could select the driver, the Print Queue shows that it's sending data, and that the job is done, but no print out.
Hope a fix comes out soon!!!

Jan 17, 2012 8:45 PM in response to triciacastroby PAHU,The CAPT driver cannot be used when the printer is connected to Windows and shared. This is due to limitations with the CAPT driver. For this type of setup you need to follow this workaround.

Jan 18, 2012 10:47 PM in response to PAHUby triciacastro,HI PAHU!
I got it to work! THANKS TO YOUR ADVICE! But I don't know which postscript printer to use best to replace Canon LBP2900. I chose Apple Laserwriter Monochrome but it didn't print properly (but finally got it printing!). I was printing in lanscape and it cut the left side of the printout.
Thanks in advance!

Jan 18, 2012 11:44 PM in response to triciacastroby PAHU,I previously used the Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS, as shown in his blog, to print to a Canon LBP. But I didn't test changing the orientation at the time, so not sure exactly what you need to do. If selecting the Page Layout in Mac doesn't work you may also need to set the page layout in Windows.
