When I click on the Themes button in iMovie HD 6, the drop down menu lists "No themes found." In the Theme Elements window below that menu, there are two squares with "Theme" under them that do nothing when clicked on. What's going on, and how to I install the themes?

I'm having the exact same problem. I have checked and the themes are in the Application Support folder for iMovie.

    Anyone?

    Hi David

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Just tried trashing all iMovie prefs that I found with a spotlight search but to no avail.

I'm always a bit wary of trashing the .plist files. Is there any damage that could be done by deleting the wrong one?

Anyway, do you have any other ideas?

    Thanks again

    Tim

your imovie prefs are held in your library's in a folder called preferences, there could be some in your main library and some in your user library, they will have a name like: com.apple.iMovie.plist.

throwing these away will cause the application to generate a new set of prefs, which often eliminates problems that are occurring.

if you throw your prefs away you will have to reset the way you have set up imovie, these are usually minor settings such as a default window size or which type of project the application makes by default.

I'm having the same exact problem. I have trashed preference files in both main library and user's library. When I reinstall ilife'06, I notice that the themes folders appears in the Application Support Folder under the main Library, not the User one. Tried duplicating the themes folder and placing it in the Application Support Folder uder the User Library as well as having a folder in each to no avail.
Is there anyone with a solution? All the other postings found show other people having the same problem, but no solution.
    Thanks

    Jose

    I finally cracked it!

The way I managed to get it working was to do a spotlight search for iMovie, trash everything related to the program then reinstall.

You could give that a try - good luck.

Thank You, Tim! It worked!!!! I can't figure out what I had left out deleting the last couple of times, but the greatest thing is that it now works.
Thanks for bringing my enthusiasm back
