My 4th gen. shuffle will only play podcasts (any number) from the alphabetically first radio show I have loaded.  Is there some way I can change the settings to get it to play all of the podcasts that are loaded on it?

iPod shuffle, Windows 7

I have this exact same problem and don't know how to fix it.

I have podcasts loaded along with music and mine won't play any podcasts.  Should I delete all the music on only load the podcasts?

UPDATE: I figured out how to navigate through multiple podcasts from different sources without having to create playlists... You have to hold down the information button on top (beside the on/off switch). The voice-over will then list off everything that you have on the device. When you hear what you want to listen to, you press the PLAY button.

Quite simple, but it was better before when my 3rd generation Shuffle simply played everything without me having to fiddle with it. (At least my new one has a cool black dial!)

Your Shuffle is treating all of your music as belonging to one folder and your podcasts as belonging to a different folder with seperate subfolders for each podcast souce. It will only move out of the song folder and into the podcast folders when you tell it to do so by holding down the information button and pressing the play button when the voice-over gets to what you're looking for.

I'm beginning to think that it might be easier to just make a playlist filled with the songs and podcasts that you want to listen to and then play the list instead of messing around with the information button. Although my voice-over is set to have an authoritative British accent which, being Canadian, makes me feel safe.

Thanks for the explanation.   To be frank, I agree with Wheatking62 (go Jets) on the fact that the work-around is more effective.   I'd rather have the Shuffle work in true shuffle mode, and having to force it to move from one podcast to another by holding down a button seems like a big step backwards.

Thank you SO much for this! I was on the phone w/ effed up Apple four HOURS! I have THREE shuffles now b/c I was told it must be broken so they kept sending me replacements. What a messed up company: They don't even know how their own products work.
