Sep 3, 2011 2:47 AM in response to ipodlover1987by HappySad,None of this has worked for me. Removing and reinstalling worked, but the problem came back less than a week later.
This solution thread fixed my problem easily and simply with instructions even I could follow: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15993286#15993286 .
If that doesn't work, this solution thread has suggestions: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3275295?start=0&tstart=0

Sep 3, 2011 5:59 AM in response to rodfromnewarkby pullinghair,Thank you Rod for taking the time to help the little people, the uninformed. After many hours of chasing dead end solutions. yours worked. And I kind of thought it might because it was the most computer savvy sounding advice. (I mean, really, check the "parental control"? Geez!)
Anyway, again, many thanks.

Sep 8, 2011 5:13 AM in response to ipodlover1987by Bluejayway,i feel i had to post here to not only thank Rodfromnewark but to say this fix also fixed my Safari browser. I had uninstalled safari about a week ago as i could not get it working and decided to give up on it. then today i tried to access the Itunes store for the first time in two months. low and behold i got the hanging problem and found this thread. i fixed Itunes and then thought Hmm i wonder if it has now fixed a very similar issue in safari, and yes the good news is both now work
thanks all and praise be to Rodfromnewark!
