Can you advise on my new Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex options?  Time Machine or Memeo software?

My concern is that I likely don't know what I don't know...and don't want highsight regrets.  I just purchased the USB 3.0 1 TB GoFlex...

I understand the Time Machine does automatic updates, and wonder if that is the direction I should go?

My question is that my new MacBook Pro will be used for webinars.  I am using Camtasia as an artist to demonstrate painting instruction, to do critiques.  Camtasia is a screen capture software that creates video.  Also using Power Point presentations.  Sure there will be videos too.

I guess while the backup is nice with Time Machine...I kinda think storing the finished videos, presentations...on the GoFlex and freeing up hard drive space on my MacBook would be ideal.  Yes..no?  Your experiences/thoughts?

The GoFlex comes with Memeo software (no manual but visited the Seagate site).  Not sure the process yet if I go with that option, but apparently I can use the Seagate software to do a backup, and apportion part of the drive for storage.

appreciate your thoughts, cons and pros...thanks in advance...
