Using iDVD 7.1.2 and 6.0 and 7.0 themes (I've tried one of each), the 'play' button shows double. That is, the highlighted state does not match up with the regular state of the button. It's off to the side, and in the case of the 6.0 theme, also stretched.  I have dumped prefs... do I really need to reinstall?

I could live with no highlighting at all, but don't see a control that governs same.

Thanks.

    What theme are you using?  Have you tried a different theme to see if it's just theme related.

    Try the following:

    1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your

         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.

    2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your

         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.

    Click to view full size

    3 - launch IDVD and try again.

    If that doesn't work post a screenshot of the button before and after so we can see exactly what you're referring to.

    Since the project plays OK with DVD Player then the problem is either with the burn process or, as you mentioned, with the set top DVD player. See if you can find another set top DVD player and try it there. If it still offsets then the burn process is looking suspect.

    In that case burn to disk with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
