Yes, that would be a great idea but I can see it now... "help! I deleted my purchase history and now I can't get that much-needed-now app back. Why do I have to buy it again? Why did Apple allow this? They should fix it so you can't delete your history in case you make a mistake."

At least you don't have to look at your purchase history daily.

It's hidden, not deleted. I assume if you try to re-download it you wont have to pay for it again. Those of us who wanted a solution we have one, not sure why you bothered posting in here Jennifer.

    Thanks Coldplay for the answer

You can hide the apps. Go to app store, updates, purchaced. Then your list of apps appear, the apps you don't want seen, you swipe your finger over the screen to the right and press hide.

    Dear folks,

One simple fix i discovered to remove some items from the appstore purchase history list. Use your mac. Go to itunes. Then go to itunes store. When you touch the purcahsed icon, you will have the whole list of purchasex items there. Then as you move the cursor slowly on each item, there is an 'x' at the top left corner, which when pressed allows you to 'hide' that specific item from the whole list. I have no idea what hiding means. But the good thing is once you 'hide' those items there, you wont see them in all other synced devices like ipad. At least this worked out for me. Try it out, folks.

Thanks to Coldplay519 for posting the solution. I followed your instructions and now none of the apps I wanted to delete are showing on the family wide gadgets. I don’t care if they’re hidden or not.

Whether you liked or not Apple listened. And, yes, they monitor bad publicity everywhere including user forums, twitter, facebook, you name it.

I agree with AJ11584, those of us who wanted a solution got it.

    Thank you Apple.

    There's a way

Go to AppStore >> Purchased >> look for the app that you want to hide >> swipe your finger Right/Left on the selected item >> then, "hide" option will appeare >> press it and congratulation ;)

Click Account in the Quick Links on the right side of the MAS. In your Account in the iTunes in the Cloud section you can manage apps that you have hidden.

I found something that may be able to help a little.. Although it seems there is no way to DELETE the purchase history on icloud.. There is a way we can HIDE what we have purchased.. On iTunes, on the right there should be a "Purchased" button.. If you click that it will go to a screen that shows music, movies, apps, etc... If you click on the apps it will show your entire history both of what you have installed and what is currently not on your idevice.  Now here is the part that might help...

On the apps tab, when it brings up the list, you can mouse over whichever apps you want, and there will be an "x" in the upper left corner of the app icon. That will hide the app from the list, and the best part is, it will also hide the app in your idevice.

So even for the time being if we can't actually delete the history, we can preserve a little privacy by at least hiding what we don't want others to see.

    Hope this helps.

THERE IS A WAY!! you open up iTunes, go to the iTunes store, sign in click on app store, then on the right you will see a column that says app store quick links, and you go down and look for purchased, click on it then hover over the app you want to delete press x on the left corner and it will ask you if you want to hide the purchase and walah is gone for good

Hi you can't delete purchased history as of yet, However what you can do is hide the apps you dont wanna see in the purchased section. to do this first make sure you have the latest version of itunes. then simply go to the purchased history page scroll to the right hand corner and a small X will appear. click this X and it will ask you whether you would like to hide the app and will tell you you can view your hidden app on the account information page. this is the best solution apple currently has so give it a shot. it means your purchased history wont have as much and wont view the apps/songs you dont want. i hope i help you out note: you can only do this from itunes on a computer.

Removing apps from your purchase history is now possible in iTunes 10.5.

    Here's how you do it:

    1. Upgrade your version of iTunes to 10.5 (released October 11, 2011).

    2. Click on iTunes Store in the lefthand column of iTunes and log in to your account.

    3. Find "Purchased" in the Quick Links menu on the right hand side of the Store home page. Click on it.

    4. You should see a list of your downloaded apps on the screen. Mouse over any app that you wish to delete. A small "x" in a round circle will appear in the top left corner of the app icon. Click the "x".

    5. A notification will pop up telling you that your purchased app will now be hidden and how you can un-hide it in the future. Click OK. The app will disappear from your purchase history in iTunes and all associated iOS devices instantly. Verify this on your iOS device by navigating to your purchase history in the App Store.
