Oct 12, 2011 8:46 AM in response to anthaeus1964by vitalyfromwheeling,Just to document the problems, I have the same issue. W7 64bit. This started as soon as I updated to 10.5 beta 4 and each new beta and now the final build do not solve the problem. I have tried the uninstall/reinstall several times and it doesn't help. I even reformatted my PC and reinstalled and it didn't help.

Oct 12, 2011 8:47 AM in response to tbrowningby tbrowning,Back to 10.4 and working. Replaced the iTunes Library.itl file with the most recent one from the Previous iTunes Libraries folder.
Still disappointed. As I understand it, you can't do the iOS 5 update from iTunes 10.4.
Will continue to wait out a solution.

Oct 12, 2011 8:47 AM in response to vitalyfromwheelingby japiohelp, this works by me
In windows 7, click on your start menu, go to accessories, right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator". Once it opens, type in the following command...
netsh winsock reset
hit enter and it should say something like winsock reset successful now reboot your computer. -
Oct 12, 2011 8:50 AM in response to japiohelpby tbrowning,I did try the winsock reset solution suggested to no avail. iTunes, MobileDevice and APush still use 100% of CPU and devices will not sync. iTunes actually locks up eventually, though there is no visual indicator of this. CPU remains high usage. Only thing that changes is that hitting the X to close out of iTunes is unresponsive.

Oct 12, 2011 9:41 AM in response to japiohelpby TheSmallApple, japiohelp, your "netsh winsock reset" worked for me - thanks!
After rebooting the PC, I manually started the AppleMobileDeviceService - no CPU load at all
Started iTunes 10.5 and the white store screen was gone, in additon to a normal load on the CPU
Again, japiohelp, THANKS!

Oct 12, 2011 1:39 PM in response to gibbeyby stuker,XP Service Pack 3 Users - Winsock Reset also works using MIcrosoft Fix It tool:
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=811259
The Fix-It tool is two thirds down the page.
I ran this, rebooted and now no longer have the problem.
Good luck to all other XP users - I hope you have the same success.
