I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 without a hitch (never jailbroken either).

However when I create a reminder there is no option to make it location based. I have location services turned on, although Redminders does not show up under the list of apps to enable location based features.

Am I missing something here? I already checked under Show More and Remind Me from within the app, and there's nothing.

You should see it at Show More>Remind Me>At a Location. Turn that to "on".

    open the reminders app

type something in like 'update to iOS 5'

    hit return

now touch what you just wrote, tap 'remind me', then turn on the 'at a location' switch

Same problem here. Its working ok on my iPhone 4, but I can't get the location option on my iPad 2 (3G w/GPS). I neither have weather widget in this device.

is the location thing only available to iphones and 3gs ipads? Because technically you could still have wifi when you reach your location on say an ipod touch.

iPhone 4's user manual says this: "Location reminders are available only on iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, and may not be available in all areas. Also, you cannot set locations for reminders in Microsoft Exchange accounts."

There was no mention on what areas this feature is not available in - but again, it should at lease show the option!

    Oh.  I see.

    So the symptoms are:

"Reminders" do not show under Settings > Location Services

"At a location" does not appear in the Reminders App under "Remind Me"

[vishrut] might be on to something with 'may not be available in all areas'

    -------

    Have you:

Rebooted the device ? (hold top button, slide to turn off, hold top button again)

Synced in iTunes ? (this strangely sometimes 'rights' weirdness in apps)

Considered doing a 'Sync' then 'Restore' of the new iOS 5 just to be sure? (if you sync & backup first, you will lose no data or information on your iPhone)

Have you tried resetting your device by pressing and holding the Home button and power button until the silver apple appears?

    Aha!

    See, you didn't need us.

Reminder Locations do not work with Exchange Email -- that's good to know.

Well that just *****....it should be the same code, why would you turn location off for iPad users.   This was one of the features I was looking forward to.
