iCloud - "There was a problem completing the backup" on iPad2

I have been trying for nearly two days to complete a back-up from my iPad2 to iCloud and continuously get this message: "There was a problem completing the backup."


I was able to get my iPhone-4 to complete the back-up and it seems all the other items associated with iCloud are working fine. This morning, I purchased an additional 10GB of space thinking that I might need more space to complete the back-up. That didn't work.


Can someone guide me in the right direction?

I finally have a complete back-up of my iPad2 to iCloud. This is what I did...

  • Signed out of iCloud, then shut iPad down completely. After launching it, I signed back into iCloud. Pushed Back Up Now button and it backed up for a while, but never completed.
  • Go to Manage Storage, Selected iPad, then turned off all backup options. When back to Back Up Button and after about 20-minutes...I had a complete back-up.
  • I've gone back and started turning back on the apps a few at a time, then selecting Back Up and continue to get complete back-ups.

I dont think its to do with Pages, i have Pages installed (and all the rest of the iWork sorfware) and turned them all off, deleted them and still back up didnt complete. in the end i had to Restore the original setting on the iPad through iTunes and re-download all purchases (as last back-up was from over a month ago) and now all works fine.....really annoying tho. Hope it doesnt happen again.
