This is my configuration:

- Mac Mini 2011

- 4gb ram

- intel i5 processor 2.3ghz

- intel Hd graphics 3000

- hdmi output directly connected with a full hd philips tv with a standard 1.4 hdmi cable

After the 10.7.2 upgrade I had 2 problems:

1) finder infinite loop at startup (but I've solved by deleting the ds_store files that are under desktop and my profile folders)

2) video driver problem

For the second one I haven't find a solution. I'm now rolling back the system to 10.7.1 version

Probably is a problem of the new video driver that is inside the upgrade

I've already try to reset PRAM and NVRAM but it didn't solved...

After 10-15 minutes (with no one program open except finder) the image disappear from the screen for

2/3 seconds and then come back, but all colors are missing. The screen image have a strange "blue" dominant.

To restore the situation to normally I've to go inside preference - monitor and switch to another resolution (for example 1080i)

and then re-select the 1080p again. But after 10-15 minutes the problem reappears. It's impossible to see a movie in this situation...

Does anyone have my same problem and did find a solution?

LATEST NEWS: after system roll-back at 10.7.1 the issue is "magically" disappeared...    :)

I have the same problem with a mid 2011 version (the one with the 6630m). 10.7.1 worked fine. 10.7.2 not so.

How did you roll back to 10.7.1?

I think it's not a video driver problem, because the problem afflicts Intel & ATI video cards... probably is related to the HDMI audio problem that many other users have after the lion 10.7.2 upgrade. Probably some HDMI settings were changed in this last update.

The issue has previously hit Apple TV owners. I think people came to the conclusion that it was a HDMI handshake problem. Basically the process where the device and TV greet each other, make up some rules about communicationg and what their secret key is and so on.

I haven't tried this yet, but my local service center says that basically I can do one of two things:

    - Downgrade to 10.7 and then download the 10.7.1 update from Apples website. To do this without having a Mac OS X Lion disc, you can hold down CMD + R when the computer boots to be able to access the recovery partition on newer Macs that come without the OS disc.

    or..

    - Put something in between the computer and TV. For example, if you're using an amplifier as a part of your home theather set up, this will probably work. The service guy said he has his Mini connected to the amplifier, which in turn is connected to speakers and a projector. The inverted colors still appear, but only once per night (i.e. after the first problem is reset by resetting the link then it's fine).

For now, I'll do my little dance of changing the source on the TV from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 and then back again to reset the link... But, I'll probably try downgrading in a few days.

I too ran into the same problem after updating today: had the same problems in Snow Leopard, they got fixed in Lion (finally!) and returned with 10.7.2. It looks like I managed to fix the problem by copying a file from the Lion install that got removed in 10.7.2 (probably because there are multiple support topic of people whose Philips TV wasn't working at all in Lion, and they had to remove this specific file to get it to work!).

Long story short: if you have handshake problems, try the following (of course, at your own risk):

    1. Download http://www.mediafire.com/?fdz29bgsg3zm653

    2. Unarchive it

    3. In the Finder, go to (using cmd-shift-G) the directory /System/Library/Displays/Overrides/

    4. Place the entire directory you unarchived in step 2 (DisplayVendorID-410c) in the directory /System/Library/Displays/Overrides/

    5. Reboot

It seems to be working for me, so I hope it is the same for you all!

Could anyone please venture a guess whether this problem could be fixed in near future by Apple? I'm fairly new to Mac and I must admit I would have never expected that updating the system with the official update could cause so much trouble. I'm reluctant to mess with the system and willing to wait couple of days, but if there won't be no fix anytime soon, I guess I won't have any other choice... Really disappointing.

You're not going to like this, but even my local service rep told me that "if Apple find a solution that's good for most users" they will. Basically, the issue seems to be that some Philips TVs don't work at all with the devicevendor-410c fodler present in that other folder listed above while for us removign it makes the colors go nuts from time to time. I did what Rutto_ suggested and so far so good
