Q: Apple ID is valid but is not an iCloud account
I've successfully upgraded three Macs and my iPhone to 10.7.2/Build 11C74 today, moved my MobileMe account to iCloud, and moved two of the Macs and the iPhone to iCloud. However, my MacBook Air keeps giving me the error "Apple ID is valid but is not an iCloud account" when I attempt to move it to iCloud. I've tried a test account on this Mac with the same results.
The Apple servers are confirming my Apple ID credentials, but won't allow me to set up iCloud on this MacBook Air. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I'm hoping it's just a server validation issue this evening that will be resolved in the morning, but for now I'm stumped.

Since this is a first generation MacBook Air, and I primarily use my iPad these days, along with my iMac for heavier duty stuff, I decided to determine whether the issue was hardware or software related. So, I erased the MacBook Air and reinstalled a clean copy of Lion. After the reinstall, I was able to login to iCloud in System Preferences just fine.
This means, there's some errant file in the System that's preventing the login to proceed.
