cannot add calendar events

Go into icloud and turn calendar off then back on. I had the same problem and when I did that it fixed it. Also was not syncing with icloud because I could go to the web and see all my appointments but nothing on my phone. After I did the off then on it synced right up. Also you may have to delete the icloud account on your phone and then redo it. Both ways worked for me.

No problem. I was getting worried because I made an appointment and then found out there was no plus sign for me to put it in my phone. Even had the same problem with my ipad and the same proceedure fixed it too.

This did not work for me (iPhone 4, iOS5) - any other suggestions? I am trying to add event to my Google calendar that I have synced with my phone.

Do you have google calendar turned on in settings?

Yes - just double-checked again to be absolutely certain.

Additional info that may be helpful in finding a solution...if I add an event to my Google calendar from my PC - it will still sync with my phone correctly. Just tested that a few minutes ago -- but as you can see, that is terribly inconvenient. My work Outlook Calendar is also synced with my phone -- I can add an event to that Calendar from my phone without a problem.

In case someone else comes across this thread...what worked for me is closing every application in the multitasking bar and then going back to edit and add my google calendars. Learned this from sej9.

I had to delete just like you said. It worked perfectly!! I have been on hold with apple care for over 2 hours and you fixed it for me!! YAY! Using iphone 4 no google.

I had to go into settings>iCloud> and turn on Calendars. Somehow got turned off when I upgraded to IOS5.
