My Apple TV told me it had an update, so I updated. When it was done it had reset all my settings. When I try to connect to my network, it tells me "There was a problem connecting to the network. Check your settings and try again. (-3902)."

Anybody else having this problem? I did another reset and checked for software update; it says I am up to date.

I am encountering the exact same thing.  ATV2 cannot connect to the Internet or Home Sharing.  My iPod Touch has no problem at all (the little one is watching Netflix on it right now).  I didn't even get a chance to d/l the newest update.  When I go to do a "Restore" I get the following message:

Apple TV can't download the latest update right now.  Try again later.

That implies to me something is wrong on Apple's end.  It's Friday night and I wanted to relax...why can't they do this on Monday night?!

I should also add the ATV is connected to the Wi-Fi network, but is not registering a Router or DNS address.  It DOES register the IP, Subnet Mask, Wi-FI address, and signal strength.

I am another person with the same problem.

I have plugged and unplugged dsl modem, router, Apple TV in various configurations but still the Apple TV connects to Wifi but cannot connect to the internet.

Since it will not connect to the internet it also will not allow home sharing as it does not recognise my AppleID :-(.  Of course it will also not allow a restore as that also requires internet connection . . . .

To make matters worse the airplay/mirroring icon has disappeared from my iPhone 4S too.  Probably just coincidence but frustrating just the same. Lots of fantastic features that are little more use than a chocolate teapot today.

Any suggestions welcome - I am thinking wait until tomorrow to see if things may resolve quietly on their own.

I know it doesn't help much, but mine resolved itself on its own:  https://discussions.apple.com/message/16570524#16570524
