The LOSS of functionality in LION is too great. The COST to upgrade other expensive softwares...is too great...

Plus the the loss of MobileME or something that works on Snow Leopard is too great.

    Stuck!!!

    Thanks Apple!!!

That is Windows users problems...it hasn't been the case for years for Apple users.

APPLE SHOULD CONTINUE TO SUPPORT SNOW LEOPARD.

If is by far their BEST OPERATING SYSTEM EVER!!!

LION just has too many issues and forced purchases of apps that you have to do.

Not worth it. No wonder it was so cheap.

I've tried your suggestion, but get the following error from iCal:

Access to account “tonza@me.com” is not permitted.

    The server responded:

    “HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden”

    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.

Not only that, but iCal refuses to sync to it, stating the following in its General preferences.

    Screen shot 2011-10-27 at 9.23.55 PM.png

This became the case after my MobileMe account got converted to iCloud, so my Snow Leopard installation is now locked out of the system.

(Un)fortunately, I can use Windows 7 to sync to Outlook 2010 instead.  Yuk.

I believe you can only create an iCloud acount via your iPhone or iPad running OS5 unless you have migrated to iCloud from your MobileMe account.

That's what ${SOCIAL_NETWK:=Facebook} is for.  If you've noticed, all of Apple's apps now export their assets to Facebook, Flickr, and other social networking Web services.

I suppose Apple figured that since these social networks exist and are immensely popular, why not use them instead?

I don't want to share on facebook!  I'm really going to miss mobile me gallery ... so nice to share with select people.  Any suggestions for a good site that operates in a similar fashion?

Not sure I'd call Flikr a social networking site, more of a photo sharing site. Other than some friends and family photo sharing, I don't like to share on facebook either. I mostly us my own web site's space to host photos but with support for flickr and others, they are nice alternatives.

"Wanting the latest and greatest OS and Apps goes no longer together with owning old hardware. And Hardware is old the minute you unbox it at home. Might be tragic but that's how it is. Windows Users know this already, especially the 'gamers' that are in a constant Hardware-Upgrademania only to run the newest games on PCs."

Sjazbec, your argument is totally invalidated by the fact that iCloud works, supported, on Windows Vista and Outlook 2007.  This isn't a technological issue.  There are plenty of us who won't spend the $30 to upgrade to Lion because we can't afford the many hundreds of dollars to upgrade other applications that don't work properly on Lion.

Spot on! I paid for MobileMe because it was a solution that "just worked" and worked with my expensive hardware and expensive software for which I am prepared to pay the premium to allow me to do my work effectively. Yanking the carpet from loyal supporters will not make us want to upgrade. It will simply make us pee'd off and start looking towards Google, Microsoft, Android etc for an alternative.

icloud for snow leopard does work if you do the following:

    Go to iCal preferences.

    Set up new account.

    Account Type:  CalDAV

User Name:  Your MobileMe / iCloud email address

    Password:  Your password for above

    Server Address:  p06-caldav.icloud.com

Just gave this a try three times and no go.  So, I'm off to partition my HD so that I can install Lion in it.

iCloud will not work with Snow Leopard unless Apple releases OS X 10.6.9, and it includes iCloud.

Are you saying try the #s from 1 to 8 up the scale? If that is the case, I'll just partition.  Thanx.

I tried it anyway and still didn't work.  I get a message saying: "All CalDAV account for blahblah@me.com" on cal.me.com" are already configured.  Configuring duplicate accounts is not supported.
