I did and it worked for 3 times then froze again. I opened firefox to respond to you and got the lion screen of death while this page was loading. Restarted and safari opened to the page I was trying to open that froze.
Yes I sent the report to Apple. This happens every once in a while when I try to use safari I get the lion screen of death.
I only get that screen once in a blue moon and it's usually after I've installed something and reboot.
Could it be something to do with any pligins that you have installed.
Just trying to narrow down the field.
I don't believe I've installed any plugins. It is checkmarked in preferences to enable them. I've been an Apple user since 10.2 and never had a screen of death until Lion. I have had the computer feeze on me before.
But that was rare. I should add that I like Lion but it does not seem very stable, at least on this machine. I wonder since my mac pro is getting old if ithe OS was not tested on it. Mac Pro 1.1
Thought might want to check this thread out. I was going through it while waiting for you to get back to me.
I have'nt had this problem that your having or their having so I can not trouble shoot it. I have one last suggestion but I don't think it applies to you but your welcome to give it a shot.
First I Reset Safari, then close Safari then navigate to:
Home/Library/Preferences and look for and then remove
Home/Library/Safari/ folder and remove the following two files:
Go to Home/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/ and remove the contents of that folder.
(These are just webhistory files and are not required for Safari to run. However, similar to preference files, problems can arise if they have become corrupt.)
Locate the cookies.plist file that's located in the Home/Library/Cookies/ folder and remove it.
They will all be recreated next time you launch Safari.

I will try it get back to you in a few minutes. I have not gotten that message.
Ok this is to wierd, under home I have no library folder. I am the only user though. Not sure about that??? Under Mac hd I have a library folder but it does not have any of the things to delete.
Please enable guest logins and log in as Guest. Launch Safari and test. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and disable it if you wish.
You do have a Library folder it's just hidden by the OS.
Using Finder, Go to "Go" and hold down the Option Key and it will appear in the List.
The reason Apple hides it is so that someone that does'nt know what their doing won't delete something real important.
Please boot in safe mode, log in as yourself, launch Safari, and test again. Same problem now?
Safe mode is slower than normal, and some things won’t work at all, possibly including wireless networking. If possible, connect to the Internet using an Ethernet cable. If you can’t test in safe mode, then perform a safe login: log out of your account without rebooting, enter your credentials at the login screen, then hold down the shift key and click the “Log in” button. Keep holding the key until the menu bar appears.
After testing, reboot or log out/log in as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.)
I tried deleteing all of what those instructions said. Safari was super fast. Page after page loaded for about 20 tries. then it stalled again, same problem. I shut it down and the same first page loaded and then second did not.
