Oct 28, 2011 3:05 AM in response to stuartfromberkhamstedby LutraBelenus,Seems to be many variations on the same theme with iTunes 10.5.0.142 and iPod Touch; fails to sync, freezes, crashes, is not recognized, etc. The only thing that seems to be consistent is Apple’s inability to acknowledge a problem.

Oct 29, 2011 7:43 AM in response to stuartfromberkhamstedby moenyc,Same problem. Now I have an ipod that doesn't work. I'm not buying another one. Nothing is working.. I've uninstalled each component of the softwre, rebooted, reinstalled, nothing. even tried not syncing photos. This is ridiculous.

Nov 1, 2011 12:16 PM in response to stuartfromberkhamstedby Phil Weyman,Had this problem, turned on 'Sync over WiFi' whilst pod was plugged in, unplugged it and hit Sync.
It's now syncing!
Not sure what will happen next time I plug the cable in, or if it will finish syncing (currently Backing Up) but wanted to share whilst I was here… -
Nov 1, 2011 12:33 PM in response to stuartfromberkhamstedby xxxx7,I use to have the same problem on iOS 4.3.3 but not on it's 5, however try downloafing the latest version of iTunes, and if that doesn't work restore you iPod touch.

Nov 2, 2011 1:02 AM in response to stuartfromberkhamstedby writerguy25,This was happening to me. I found on another thread that if you power cycle your ipod (or iphone), by simultaneously holding down the home and power buttons, and then try syncing it again it should work. I tried this and it worked for me.

Nov 3, 2011 8:55 AM in response to stuartfromberkhamstedby Vito The Mush,I am getting the same message from time to time. Never use to get it at all before iOS 5.0. The one thing that works for me is to close all open Apps on the Ipod Touch and then sync.

Nov 22, 2011 7:32 AM in response to stuartfromberkhamstedby equalitygirl,I was having this problem (iTunes could not sync to iPod iTouch). I upgraded iTunes version from 10.5.1.x to 10.5.1.42, rebooted the computer (PC running Windows 7) and it was able to synch.
Looks like Apple heard us and fixed the problem with an iTunes upgrade.

Dec 8, 2011 1:00 PM in response to writerguy25by Fyxsius,I found that reseting the device worked out pretty well like this. Whatever was causing my ipod not to sync fixed itself in the power cycle.
