Q: Dual g5 2.7ghz leaks

I know apple will not post this, but apparently apple thinks it is ok for my Protools rig, a dual g5 2.7 to leak coolant, fry the machine, cause a safety hazard, and fry the cpu's due to radiator being drained completely dry. I know the machine is old, but for what I spent, and considering this is a DEFECT, it needs to be replaced or recalled. This could easily become a legal issue! Opinions?

It's not the age of the truck but the DEFECT in the SEAL. How hard is this to understand?

Apparently, it is very hard for you to understand.  Let me try to break this down simply for you:

Stuff Breaks.  And the older the "stuff" is, the more likely it will break.  Older trucks break down more often than newer trucks.  If a major component of a truck failed in the first 6 months of use, then it would be a DEFECT.  If it breaks down after 6 years/100K miles of use, then it could be WORN OUT.  As has already been explained, the LCS has moving parts, liquid and seals in it. These components degrade over time - just like the seals in your truck example.  With proper care and maintenance, your truck (and your computer) will last a long time.  If you perform no maintenance on either, then it will wear out faster.  While I have no idea of your maintenance habits, that IS a factor when something breaks down.

    peace.
