    Hi;

    wow seems it is not just me or the wiring. I have a iPhone with iOS5 and confirm the exact same issues. My setup is:

    Alpine CDA 105

    USB cable

    Rockford Fosgate AMP

    Alpine speakers and sub

    All the wiring was triple checked and is of high quality. We ran tests with CD, Radio, and a different phone (non Apple) and only the iPhone has the crackling and popping. Does not matter if the car is running or not, as we tried to elimainte comon grounding and Alternator issues that some installs have. We are 99% sure it is the iPhone and not the wires or sound system.

    I can only imagie it is either faulty HW in the iPhone or Software. I know the iPhone tries to cut corners with transeivers and other parts to keep the costs inside the stratoshepre. So, maybe the phone is simply not "good" on USB output. Playing in headphones in the mini jack is fine.

    Is there any way to open a  trouble tcket with Apple? I mean this seems to be a problem for many people here, and probably many more that simply have not been in the forums. Apple and iPhones are a massive ecosystme, so I hope it does not get lost in the wind. Having a support case opened?

    Regards,

    Jon

    Hey, have you tried rebooting the phone? I rebooted once or twice, plugged it into the head unit and all was peachy.

    Hi;

    yes a few times. We literally removed the seats and looked at all the cables going back to the AMP and did all kinds of tests. We spent a lot of time on it...... Perplexing. Its very random, so hard to imagine the SW, I am thinking just a cheap or damaged transeiver that does the output, maybe some cache....No idea but it realy really ***** becuase all my music is on the iPhone. I am back to buring CDs from iTunes and taking them in the car. Really ***** becuase you want to have more music than the CD available and I have no changer becuase I thought I was over CDs forever!

    Regards,

    Yeah, I ended up sticking a bunch of music on a USB stick for a while, but organizing it manually was a nightmare. It's definitely an issue within the phone itself. Not ideal, given its original purpose was to provide authentic iPod functionality within a phone.

    Hi;

    humm, I guess until it is fixed or I get another phone how could I do that? I have a 64GB stick and I guess that is better than nothing becuase I liek to have the music loud and clear :~)

    Regards,

    Jon
