Connect your ipad into itunes, and restore it.

Just ran into this problem myself, it's like a vicious cycle. The iPad is telling me to connect to iTunes, and iTunes is telling me that it can not connect to the iPad till I unlock it, and being disabled doesn't allow you to enter in a passcode.

So I have done a force restore on the iPad. This is what I had to do

Hold down the home button and power button at the same time. This forces the screen to fade and the Apple Logo to reappear. Don't let go of the buttons until the iPad shuts off.

Once the iPad is off plug the usb cable into the computer.

    Open iTunes

While holding down the Home button plug the cable into the iPad.

Contunue holding the home button until the you the itunes logo and the picture of the cable on the iPad screen. This may take up to 30seconds.

iTunes should now detect the iPad and you can perform a restore. Just follow the on screen instructions and it should restore.

Hopefully you have a recent back up.

Did you sync it up to your laptop/desktop? if so, check the instructions above, worked for me.

Everyone... Lock your ipad/iphone with a passcode...pretend you do not know it and also your pc or mac blew up try to recover your ipad.   If you can post an anwer her otherwise post nothing.  I ran into this issue and the best way is to throw it out the window problem fixed..

If you have not had this issue dont post an anawer.  The question was how do you recover from a forgotten passcode and you have no pc/mac as a backup restore.

You are able to restore the ipad with ANY PC or Mac computer, it does not need to be the original machine that you set the machine up with. All of your apps will not be available, but at least you will be able to get a base image (with no password) on the ipad and recover your apps through the app store.

I have had to do this as well, just like I stated above, do a force restore and attach to ANY PC or Mac with a current version of iTunes on it and go from there.

Also, if you have set up your iPad in iCloud for Find my iPhone, you could do a Remote Wipe, again it will erase the apps but should also remove the password.

PROV1NB excellent suggestion which i have tried. my ipad also said 'ipad disabled connect to itunes'. I tried connecting but itunes would say enter passcode onto ipad which i couldnt do because it was disabled. I followed your instructions and 'voila!!' its worked, itunes came up with the 'restore' option which allowed me to restore the ipad to its original settings and allowed me access to it as well. many thanks!!!

@toxqui Regarding your scenario, I would just return the iPad to it's rightful owner

There maybe some of you who tried the above and after restoring it it still said ipad is disabled connect to itunes! For those of you this is what i did. It turned out that i needed to download an Ipad software update first on my itunes. Meaning in my pc. You will find it in the downloads icon. It takes about an hour depending on your net speed. Mine is slow. Once you are done try restoring it as explained by other people here and voila!,
