Why can't I view the Library folder? Never been an issue with previous OS. (Drives me nuts that I can't put my SSD/HDD in the Finder on the Desktop).
I don't understand this one. Check Finder -> Preferences -> General -> Show these items on Desktop
You can control what appears on your desktop. Is your hard drive enabled/checked?
As for finding the Library folder, I'm not entirely sure why Apple chose to hide this by default - I guess users don't generally need to access it. However, you can get there by holding the Option key when you click the Finder -> Go menu - this will add 'Library' as an option. You can also choose Finder -> Go -> Go To Folder and type
to get to your Library.
Yikes! I forgot completely about Finder preferences. I haven't had to change my original preferences (since X first came out)! One thousand kudo's!
The Option trick when opening Go would never have entered my dim-witted mind. Two thousand kudo's!!
