Sep 10, 2011 4:00 PM in response to aohusby Spencerjw,I had a simular situation where I had an app on my iPhone 4 say there was a update due. I updated it through the App Store on my phone and then the next day I got an email saying there was a $4.99 charge for the app purchase. But obviously this wasn't a new purchase, it was supposed to just be an update. I emailed iTunes support with the issue via the "Report a problem" link in the email receipt I got.
After about 24 hours I got a reply and they said:
"To prevent further purchasing, I have disabled your account and have disallowed your Credit card from being used on the iTunes Store. Please note that you can enable your iTunes Store account in the future by providing specific information to iTunes Store support, as described at the end of this email."
Um, why in the **** would you disable the CC from my iTunes account? I never said there were frodulent charges, just an app that shouldn't have been charged. This was almost a week ago now and I'm still having issues logging in properly and they said they will investigate why my CC was basically "banned" from being used on my iTunes account. I finally changed the card I have in there but even still I get the error "Your Apple ID has been disabled" and nothing I seem to do fixes the issue. I'm still awaiting further replies from the emails I've been sending.

Oct 8, 2011 7:30 AM in response to Spencerjwby Vandalay1125,I'm having a nightmare with iTunes support. My account got hacked two weeks ago and I cannot get them to get my account straight. The email support is horrible and you can't talk to anyone on the phone about it. iTunes is a +$1 billion business and they can't have phone support?!
Rediculous.

Nov 3, 2011 6:55 AM in response to DrNoirby stevenyuko,People, if you get this "your apple id has been disabled" please check your credit card statement associated with your apple itunes account. I got this error today, tried to reset my password which didn't help. When I opened my bank account I noticed 2 $50.00 charges from apple itunes store. I'm assuming both were purchases of itunes cards. I called customer service and they are looking into it. I wonder if their has been a rash of itunes hacking going on?

Nov 3, 2011 8:05 AM in response to stevenyukoby yahu855,Had the same problem. Turned out that when I disputed a charge from iTunes, my Apple ID was immediately disabled (a little heavy handed IMHO). Since apps are purchased, downloaded, updated, upgraded via the App Store (iTunes) you need to go to the iTunes store to resolve. They were responsive, helpful and fixed the problem right away. Nov 11, 2011 10:43 PM in response to stevenyukoby raeShikure,This is the exact same thing that happened to me two days ago. Two $50 charges. So please, anyone else who comes across this, check your bank account! I was lucky enough to have my bank phone me, since it was an "unusual purchase," but I know most banks wouldn't care to do such a thing.
I had some luck by emailing in that the money was restored to my account within 24 hours after I emailed in, but I still haven't gotten a reply from that email within 24 hours like the site said I would. So I assume someone fixed it and just forgot to tell me. However, my account is still disabled, so I guess some further emailing is in order. Hopefully some good can come of all this misfortune and apple will crack down on security and/or improve customer service.... But I won't hold my breath.

Nov 18, 2011 9:12 AM in response to DrNoirby sramberg,Happened to me too about two weeks ago. It was 250 dollars in itunes purchases- games and in game purchases! Finally got billing and everything straightened out and updated and I am still getting the apple id error. Very frustrating but I have just emailed them as well. Came here looking for a resolution but looks like there's none. :/

Nov 24, 2011 9:21 AM in response to srambergby henryfromplacentia,I happened to me too. After several days talking and email to apple, I have this issue resolved. If it still happens to you, you can go here and create a case number then apple can take care it for you.
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ then -> Contact Support -> Get iTunes support via Express Lane -> iTunes Store -> (Select) Purchase Billings & Redemption -> (Click) Continue -> (Select) Unable to purchase from iTunes Store -> (Select your device, OS, iTunes version, and country then click Continue) -> Now you can send email to apple to re-enable your Apple ID.
Good luck!
