Also, I did try going to Settings > Store > Logout. My apple id actually appears in the settings. So, I have no idea where this other apple id is coming from.

Was any of your content (music, movies, apps, etc) purchased with another Apple Store account ID? Is this the same as the one that keeps popping up?
If you know the ID:
in iTunes on your computer, sign out of your regular account. Sign in with the other account (the one that keeps coming up), and Authorize that computer to that account.
Sign out of that account, and sign back in with your usual account.
That may take care of it after your next sync with your iPhone.
(Basically, your phone was synced with Account A, but some of your apps/media were purchased for Account B. We want to tell your computer that this account and its media are OK.)

No, it is an ID that I have never had any association with. No one in my home has/has had a sbcglobal email address. That's what's so confusing.

I'd take it to a Genius at your nearest Apple store.
Was this purchased from Apple or your carrier? Or did you buy it from someone else or another source?

I bought it from the Apple Store in Oklahoma City. It was brand new and still in the shrinkwrap, so it can't be the apple id of someone who had it before me. So bizarre!

I have the same issue with a newly bought iPhone 4S (from carrier T-mobile in the Netherlands). I've restored my previous 3GS backup from iCloud (over-the-air) onto the new phone and everyday since then I'm seeing this popup if I want to download remaining purchased items with a (for me) unknown Apple ID (i.e. email@example.com)?!?
Maybe iCloud is doing tricky things with mixing Apple ID's?!?

Hi there, I am having the same problem with my iphone 4. It comes up with a password I have never seen. This only started to happen after I received a new replacement phone from apple and had to restore it from icloud. I was at the genius bar when this happened and they said to contact icloud support. I am waiting on my call.

When you go to icloud in settings, click on delete account and if you delete the account associated with icloud, go back to settings, then to icloud and it will ask for your Apple ID. Type in the new one or correct one and you will be fine. Just did it. Hope this helps.

This fix worked for me. Just had to delete my iCloud account from the iPhone having issues, then I got an expected error message that account (null) Probably for the unrecognized account, then I just relogged back in and I haven't seen the authorization messages since.
Great suggestion. Thanks!
