Yeah!!! It appears that my birthdays and anniversaries are showing up in iCloud. Skimmed through the rest of 2011 and all of 2012 and they all seem to be there.

Thanks Apple and to the users that kept on this issue to get this resolved.

Hooray APPLE!  All of my birthdays have magically appeared today!  Thank you!

Im the OP of the thread. I am still in touch with Apple Support CSR who I've been working with this entire time. I have made them aware of the remaining issue, namely that birthdays of already deleted contacts are still showing up on the Birthday Calendar on icloud.com.  I received a response that the engineers are aware of this problem and are working on the solution.

I'll keep you guys posted as I receive updates from the tech/customer support person I am dealing with.

Btw, as I've previously pointed this discussion thread to the my customer support contact, I've leared from him that he has been monitoring this thread and reacting to issues (such as this latest one) that have been coming up.

I'm one of those who is still seeing birthdays for contacts who've been deleted. Likewise, a contact whose birth year was left blank shows up as her "11th birthday" -- as if the year automatically dated to 2000.

As far as I can tell, everything else seems alright.

Thanks for your diligence on this! I really appreciate it!

I have the same issues. So when I tried to fix the original issue I created a new contact with same name but left birth year blank and then deleted the contact all together. So now I have no contact but the calander shows 2 birthdays...

    Thanks,

I was optimistic when I saw everyone's posts about having this issue cleared up.  I looked at my iPad to see if my missing birthdays were showing up.  Nope, sigh.  So I tried turning off the calendars and contacts from iCloud from both my iPhone and iPad, closed the apps on both devices, and shut down each device.  I turned on my iPhone 1st, then reconnected calendars and contacts to iCloud, then turned on my iPad and reconnected it's calendars and contacts.  No luck.

Since so many of you were having success I decided to call Apple support again.  However, since I was not getting any response from the original representative I worked with back on 10/17, I called the main AppleCare number.  1st, I found out the person I was working with is gone.  ***Why would Apple not have his calls and emails forwarded to another rep so the cases could be followed up on?!?!?!?!***  ARUGH!

Anyway, I ran through all the testing I had already done in the morning and the new rep looked through the notes from 10/17.  We tried to add a birthday to my calendar directly to iCloud rather than the idevices.  Funny thing...the birthday shows up on my iPad and iPhone calendars and contacts, but NOT on the iCloud calendar, but is in iCloud contacts.  Huh?

The rep I worked with now has my case with the engineer group.  I hope things are resolved soon.  At least I feel like I have a responsive rep now!

I have been working with Apple Engineers on the problem where deleted contacts birthdays do not go away - this morning my engineer informed me that the problem is now so wide spread that individual support cases are being dropped and the issue has now been given to the appropriate team to apply a fix - so basically Apple understands the issue, the fix is known and its just a matter of time until the issue is fully resolved - in other words be patient and the fix is coming

I've been having some of the same problems as others in this discussion, including the latest "11th Birthday" issue with contacts who have no year in their birthday field.  I'm hoping this gets fixed soon.

Not to hijack the thread, but if Apple is monitoring this thread, I'd like to ask a question.  I have Outlook 2010 running on Windows 7, and an iPhone 4.  I have successfully migrated to iCloud on all devices.  I really like the new iCloud Birthday calendar and the syncing between my devices, but is there a way to get Outlook to subscribe to that calendar so I can enjoy the same synced calendar on my laptop from within Outlook?

Not only did my birthdays disappear, but all of my calendars in iCloud are gone.  I am only left with "appointments".

This is getting rediculous. I find it hard to believe that apple can not find a solution to this problem. Seems like an easy fix would be to just make the birthday calendar with read/write access and we could then just delete the incorrect entries. I still have a date on my calendar with 3 of the same birthdays that will not go away.I tried to open a ticket with apple but I just noticed when I took my phone into apple store to get a new one because mine quit working they did not write the new serial number down so now when I input the serial from my new phone it says its not valid... Ugh this calander stuff needs fixed as its getting old.

    Thanks,

    Chris

I'm the OP and I agree, it is rediculous that this issue has not been sorted out in almost 2 months.  I have however, last week received an email from a new contact (in the MobileMe department -- which does not give me great confidence) who has taken over my case. He assures me that although there is nothing new to report, the engineers are continuing to work on the problem and there should be some news soon.

I'll continue to keep everyone updated as I receive any information.

I sent this info to Apple Feedback last week, at the request of a Tech Support whiz, but it seems that we found a glitch in the iCloud rollout that's causing a number of bedeviling (and until we figured it out, supposedly not yet documented).

This resolution only applies to those folks who "once upon a time" had a Tools or Apple ID or e-mail address for whatever reason that used the old "mac.com" construct.

Those people, somewhere along the way (MobileMe rollout) were given a "me.com" address -- but the old mac.com addresses were never vaporized, as they should have been.

Soooooo, along comes iCloud.  If you've got old mac.com addresses associated with SOME of your stuff, me.com associated with SOME of your stuff you've got issues.  Now, depending on what you used for setting up iCloud will determine just how internally confused your Apple environment is.

A completely avoidable issue back when they converted all those mac.com to me.com; a completely avoidable issue in the implementation instructions of iCloud (and another chance to vaporize the interchangeable .mac/me ambiguity).

While you can use .mac or .me for iTunes, you CAN'T mix and match them within iCloud.  Go make sure that your calendar settings and iCloud settings are using EXACTLY THE SAME Apple ID.  It may solve your problem.

This fix also untangles some of the messaging failures.

Completely avoidable, Apple missed both chances.  Now they're paying for it with our time and displeasure, not to mention their support costs while chasing this little ghost.  No official fix yet that I'm aware of.

I have the same ID (.me address) for all iCloud setups on both devices.  The strangest thing to happen to me was when I entered a birthday for an existing contact through iCloud.  The birthday was pushed down to the contacts in both iPhone and iPad as well as the calendars.  It did NOT show up in the calendar on iCloud...even when the birthday was entered through iCloud!!!

I have sent my Apple support representative a few emails asking for a status update but have had no response whatsoever from him.  It is very frustrating not to get ANY SORT OF COMMUNICATION from Apple about this problem.  The last I heard from my representative was that the "engineers" were working on it.  They even set up a temporary password for my account so they could "test" it.

I heard from my Apple support rep on Friday that on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011 there would be a software update pushed to iCloud.com that should fix the problem.  Well, I tried it today, and the problem (i.e. birthdays of deleted contacts still appearing on my Birthday calendar) has not gone away.  I notified my Apple support rep.  Argh...

I have not seen any changes today.  I refreshed my calendars, contacts, etc.  Nothing, nada, zip.  Same can be said for the communication from my support representative.
