Q: Sync Internet Explorer Bookmarks With iCloud

This is a very simple question / bug. iCloud is not syncing the changes I am making with my Internet Explorer bookmarks. It has the origional database of bookmarks but I've deleted and moved around my bookmark files & iCloud has not made any changes to it's database?

I'd try that but it doesn't seem reasonable, something official will be public soon.

Well, I gave Safari a try and promptly deleted it from my computer.  I didn't like the way it was setup, and none of my plugins were supported.  I'll stick with Firefox and just exporting bookmarks to IE for the sync.

BTW, anyone know why Apple won't support Firefox?

I ran into an interesting/annoying quirk when using Safari on Windows to manage iCloud bookmarks. Whenever I add, move, or edit my long list of bookmarks in Safari, the bookmarks window hangs for about 5 seconds and then automatically scrolls/jumps back to the top of my bookmarks list. This happens whenever I make any edits to my bookmarks list whatsoever. I think Safari is uploading all my edits to iCloud after every incremental, but unfortunately it hangs the browser for a second while doing so. It is very annoying when I need to edit lots of bookmakrs!

Yes, I noticed that as well.  In a way, I felt as though the Windows version of Safari was created as an afterthought.

I figured out that I can sync Internet Explorer bookmarks with the iCloud but to add a new bookmark that came from my PC I have to turn of and on the sync on the device.

After I do that the new bookmark is added to the device it doesn't automatically sync I have to turn it off and on again on the device.

I had the exact same problem, luckily the solution was simple.

Because I have an SSD as the boot drive, I moved most of my user folders to the D:-Drive, which is magnetic. Amongst these folders was also the Favorites folders. iCloud could sync it exactly once, and then never again.

Now I moved the folder back to its default location on C:, and syncing started right away. I hope it keeps working now...

I'm finding this to be the case as well.  At best, the bookmark sync, so far, has proven to be a hit-or-miss proposition for me.  I usually have to force-sync through iTunes for my new bookmarks to appear, but there are other times when they just show up on my iPad 2 but not on the iPhone 4S, so they have quite a bit of work to do in tightening it up.

I really wish they would support bookmark sync through Firefox, as it's a pain to keep exporting from Firefox to IE to get the new bookmarks I add.  Sometimes I copy the URL and paste it into IE and save it that way, but it's still laborious and annoying.

How do is stop my work IE bookmarks synching to my personal iPad and iPhone.  I think I must have started the sync by logging onto ICloud on my work pc to try and delete my photo stream.  Must have done it then.  Will not sign again, but suspect ill have to delete the ones from work.

That's it! I had the same problem and was in the same situation, ie the favorites folder was not in the default directory. After doing this work! Thanks tinue!

“PC Bookmarks” iphone/ipad app by Airsee LLC. It collects all favorite urls (bookmarks) from Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome in Windows 7, XP, and then imports them to the app. check iTunes app store.

Turn off, then on again the sync option on the device.
