Cannot connect to Exchange email over wifi, it is on a dmz

We have a wireless router that does not allow connection to internal IP address's but is setup to allow all internet traffic for customers that come in.  Because of the buildings structure 3g signal is horrible inside so we have all the Iphones and Androids setup to auto connect to wireless.  They can then access there exchange email and any other mail they have setup as well as access the internet on the devices.


Since the release of IOS 5 two of our Iphone users updated to this version.  Since this has been done they cannot connect to the exchange email while connected to this wifi.  They can access internet and can pull in all other email.  They can also connect to another wireless and it and does connect as well as connects on the 3g.  So I assume some setting on either the wifi in the office of the firewall that controls the dmz is incorrect.  But all the Android users and all the Iphone IOS 4 users have no problems.  So I ask what changed and what I am looking for....and we have removed the exchange account from the phones and added them back on but on via the 3g cause it will not connect to let us add i back on the wireless.
