Q: iPhone 4S is loosing connection with Carrier after iOS5 update

Hello,

I've yesterday update iOS 5.0.1. I did it directly in phone without iTunes.

Today I've recognized a issue - my iPhone is loosing connection with Carrier.

I bought phone directly from Apple and using it in T-Mobile Czech republic network.

The status bar show only Search... or No Service

I'm in area where others have good signal including 3G. Also my iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4S before upgrade works well.

I have to switch off the phone (5sec. push of sleep button) and start again to find Carrier.

The switch to Plane mode and back doesn't work.

Manual choice of carrier doesn't work even I can see and choice T-Mobile - still no service

I need to revert iOS update to be able to use my phone. Please help me with this.

Thanks

Best Regards

Jirka

Im having the same problem here as well. Im in Trinidad and Tobago and my iphone 4s was working perfectly fine before i upgraded to the 5.0.1 software. Now i cant make calls or receive. Everytime i try to make a call its say " Call fails" and then its searches to connect to the network. I have tried restoring it 3 time to the factory settings in itunes but it still has the same problems. It has to be something with the 5.0.1 software as my phone worked perfectly fine before.  Is there anyway to go back to the 5.0.1 software? Apple needs to do something about this

Having the same problem here in China. Unlocked phone (4s) was bought in Germany. Functioned fine (only issue was that I kept getting network welcome messages every 2 minutes... which only happened when using my sim with the iphone...). After the 5.0.1 upgarde I can't make or receive calls... tried complete restore.. didn't help..

    PLEASE FIX THIS ASAP!!!

It seems new iphone launches are getting worse and worse...

I have the same challenges. I received a new IPhone 4s and updated to 5.01. After the update I experience

    1. Buzzing noise in the speaker while it makes a call (goes away when/if it establish a call)

    2. The signal strength goes up and down, mostly down. It is very hard to make a call inside a house or even send a text message unless I am close to a window.

    3. It randomly complains about the SIM card not being valid and require a reboot or something similar. The same card works excellent in the previous phone.

For the sake of completness, I do not know if it worked before the update as it was updated in new condition. I tried to re-install the software using Itunes but it only deleted a few apps.

    Same problem here!
Before upgrading to iOS 5.0.1 everything was running fine.
I hope Apple reads this and fixes this issue ASAP!

Same here in Spain. I blame myself for, after 4 years of using iphones, not remembering to wait a while before installing new updates, specially if your iPhone is not working bad.

I suppose we'll have to wait for Apple to realize about this and the battery problems and 5.0.2 :-/ Hope it doesn't take very long.

https://bugreport.apple.com,  its the only hope to apple do something with this problem, its imposible that we can`t use our iphones, because they didnt do a good software (ios 5.0.1) . They need Steve Jobs for do the things well!!!

I also upgraded my iphone 4s to 5.0.1. my battery problem is fixed but I cannot make any call...

The status switches between "no service", "searching" or even full signal, but my phone is`nt able to make any call.

When I reboot the phone it is working the first 5 minutes, but then the phone seems to be shutting down itself....

    PLEASE APPLE, FIX THIS!!!!

Guys I think we need to start calling Apple Support to inform them about this problem. I have call them and they were shock to hear about my problems. They told me that i would need to take the phone to a apple store as they have never heard this problem before. May be  if a lot of people start informing them of this issue they might then try to do something about it. Apple Support # 1 800 694 7466
