Just starting out with Keynote on my iPad.

I've gotten 2 movies on one page, but is it possible to have them both play at once?

And a related question - if I play an audio file from one slide, will it continue to play through the rest of the presentation (if the audio is long enough that is)?

thanks

David

re Movies: no problem. After you've got your movies on your slide, highlight both of them, use the Animations Inspector, open "More Options", and then set up each movie to start as you wish, in your case, have the second movie start "Automatically with buile 1 (or whatever the build number of the start of the first movie is)".

re Audio: see Keynote Help, search for "About Adding Audio to Your Slideshow".

ok, the menus seem to be slightly different on my ipad, but i figured it out. Unfortuantely, it doesn't seem to be working! Here's what i did ...

    click on Animation button.

Select movie1. Add build in - Appear; Start Build - After Transition; Delay 0.1 sec

Select movie2. Add build in - Appear; Start Build - With Build 1; Delay 0.1 sec; Order - movie1, movie2

    Exit Animation mode.

Go to previous slide, enter play mode, click on slide to move to slide with movies ...

    Only movie2 starts playing.

If i let the movie play thru, movie1 doesn't start.

    If I change movie1 to strt on tap, movie2 still play & movie1 doesn't.

I tried a dissolve in, with appropriate fade times. This time movie1 started, but stopped as soon as movie2 started playing.

Is this a bug in the ipad version, or am i missing something?

(By the way, I'm trying this out in the tutorial presentation that comes with the App. Don"t know if that would make any difference?)

    thanks

I'm doing this on a Mac, not an iPad, but I assumed (perhaps mistakenly) that the basics would have been the same. Here's what I did:

    1. Highlight both movies (or one after the other; no difference) I've already put on the slide, and, in the animations inspector, use the first (on my list) "Build In" option, "Start Movie" (not "Appear").

    2. Open the "More Options" drawer. There, highlight the first movie, only that one, (which will be Object 1, unless you've got other stuff going on which happens before that), and start the build in whichever of the 2 options suits you, "On Click" or "Automatically after transition".

    3. (This is the key setting!) Highlight the second film, and start that build "Automatically with build 1".

Looks like things are different on the iPad version. I foud analogues of what you describe, and made the settings appropriately, but i'm still getting only one movie running.

    Thanks anyway!

Sorry I wasn't able to be of more help, hopefully someone with an iPad will come up with the solution - and I'm sure there must be one. Meanwhile, you might also want to give Apple some KN feedback: http://www.apple.com/feedback/keynote.html
