Their feed back page doesn't even work! I tried three different email addresses and none were deemed valid. This, along with iCloud, is a total embarrassment for Apple. Steve would not be happy!

Steve has no feelings about this any longer, please use some other person as an example.

For the illiterate, I should have said, "Steve would not be happy if he still had feelings for this". My apologies.

Adding insult to injury, the only iCloud feature I considered of value was iTunes Match, and it turns out that my song library exceeds 25,000 so I am barred from subscribing. Why couldn't Apple have allowed someone in my situation to select up to 25,000 songs for Match? Now comes the payback for Apple's domination of the music ecosystem, leaving no useful alternative to iTunes. The closed world of iOS comes with a heavy price.

It is tasteless for you to invoke what you imagine to be what Steve Jobs might think.

Satchmo, feigning some silly higher ground here is not helpful for this discussion. CLEARLY Werk was merely making a statement reinforcing Jobs' frequently touted values and CLEARLY not being disrespectful. Indeed, I understood her to be reinforcing those values. Try to direct your comments away from your imaginations about what other people's motives may be, and towards more demonstrable and tangible concerns.

Not totally worthless, mail still seems to work for me.

Otherwise, I have to ask, what's the point?  MobileMe worked better for me than this mess.  With MobileMe I could access my Time Capsule remotely and Back to My Mac worked reliably.  With iCloud I can't access my Time Capsule remotely, Back to My Mac doesn't work outside of my LAN, and Find My iPhone/Mac never can locate the Macs that are connected to my Time Capsule.

    Is this progress?

Progress for average people, not nerds.

I think iCloud is worthless since I refuse to run Lion on my Mac. The idea of backing up via wi-fi is not smart for an iPhone user...that was the whole point of me buying one, to not have to connect to Wi-Fi! lol.

I'm still glad I have access to MobileMe through June 2012. Free ride FTW (signed up on the last weekend it was available)

The whole iCloud thing leaves me very frustrated. icant even fetch and keep my multiple e-mail accounts syncronized only the @me.com one... Worthless atm.

I just discovered this tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2711 "Using iCloud as an iDisk". Worked perfectly, but there is an unfortunate limitation in that You can not currently access this folder from an iPad, iPhone, iPod or iCloud.com.

There's too much utter nonsense being bandied about here. I've been using iCloud since day 1 and it keeps my 4 accounts perfectly in sync between my Macs, iPad and iPhone, wherever I am. Once I'd figured how to set it up, it does EXACTLY as I want. And it's free. Brilliant.

Anyone not happy with it, go and pay money elsewhere for a different service and stop whingeing.

If numerous people have a problem with a product, it's an issue for the company that provides it, even if you experience no difficulties. MobileMe had its fans, but we have learned that Steve Jobs thought it was a horrible product and it was eventually canned. Solipsism is rarely interesting or helpful. One purpose of this forum is for people to describe the snags they are encountering, possibly getting help, and what gets posted is not up to you.

I tried it and the no "Mobile Documents" folder appears in Library. (Yes, I have the right iCloud Preference settings.) Yet more troubleshooting, but not worth it since Dropbox works fine without wasting my time.

I have to say the switch to iCloud was a huge disappointment for me as well.  I thought it would add on to MobileMe.  It seems that Apple's business since is oozing out somehow.  If a customer is willing to pay for something (i.e.- idisk, iweb) then wamybe you should retain these services instead of getting rid of them in your "newer, better" program.  That seems to be commensense to me.  You can add services, but take away?  Since I LOVED idisk, and no alternative was given from apple, I feel like they are pushing me away to other companies' products.  So I can sync iOS stuff?  When will they realize that in the business world I never see those programs.  I wish I did since I prefer them, bu get real.  We all have to use Word out there and store files for projects.

    Goodbye iCloud.  Hello SkyDrive.

I have no problem syncing any iOS device with iCloud. Could you please explain how you get iCloud to sync docs on the Mac with iOS devices. I've always heard (from Apple) that this is not possible.

    TIA
