Nov 11, 2011 2:49 PM in response to grahamfromnorth wilkesboroby calbum2,Wow, can't even use the word "$uck$" on here. That really "$uck$"!
I'm sure we'd all like to use some harsher language than that about all of this!
Hope I don't get banned

Nov 11, 2011 4:38 PM in response to grahamfromnorth wilkesboroby rt66iPod,I just spent an hour or two with Apple people, starting with tech support for my new phone, and ending with tech support for Apple with an accelerated case due to lack of resolution. The gentleman I spoke with last, said that the feedback section of the Apple site is taken VERY seriously by the engineers. This guy (Bryan, I know you are watching now!) was the first one to go to the blog section here and read through some of the comments. I followed his instructions and left a lengthy feedback comment and linking this thread to the feedback so the engineers could look at what everyone had sourced out. The people on the front lines are still recommending that we sync our phones, etc., which obviously I am not going to do until we have a legitimate fix for this issue. I also did three repair/reboots and then a complete re-installation of ITunes and almost ALL of my music will not play, not even ITunes-purchased music. I always "deselect" the 128kbps downgrade option; it would have been nice if my fix had been that simple!
I'd rather not do a rollback to another version as I have a new IPhone I'd like to use the ICloud with, and that requires a working 10.5 with my OS, namely..said Windows XP.
Here's the link to feedback:
http://www.apple.com/feedback/
The more actual feedback they get, the better for us, I think. I was able to talk to three different people at Apple today, and they do have a phone number. If your dvice is out of warranty, then just give comprehensive feedback. I listed mine as "compatibility issues" because, they are. If your device is still under warranty, use that phone number to air your issue if you will. Yes it is time consuming, but I think ultimately, worth it.

Nov 11, 2011 4:49 PM in response to grahamfromnorth wilkesboroby calbum2,Just one more tip to try for re-syncing with the 128kbps option not selected:
- I had to remove all music from the affected iPod first to wipe out the affected files by deselecting the songs in iTunes and sync. Essentially starting with no songs on the iPod.
- Then I reselected the songs to add and re-synced (without the 128kbps downgrade option) with success
If you don't make any changes other than the 128kbps option, it won't recognize that there is anything new to sync and it won't work (this happened to me originally).
It's worth a try if your iPod/iPhone is messed up.

Nov 13, 2011 6:51 AM in response to calbum2by AbreuMA,Windows XP SP3 on AMD processor here. Same problem. Frustrating because I like to listen to my music while sitting at the computer and my iTouch 2G is usually somewhere else when I'm home.
I'm sure this will get fixed, but what really frustrates me is that there seems to be no way to let Apple know things are screwed up. The support website doesn't make it easy to let them know this is broken. Going in via my iTouch serial number was no good because I'd have to pay to let them know their stuff is broken.

Nov 13, 2011 7:10 AM in response to AbreuMAby WaboRat72,I was a long time Zune user and earlier this year I bought an iPhone 3GS and made the switch to iTunes. I've always heard people say that Apple products are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I do love my iPhone, but iTunes itself is junk. I never had any problems with Zune Marketplace or my Zune for that matter. Nothing but quirks and bugs since installing iTunes, though. Starting to wornder if I made the right decision...

Nov 15, 2011 3:08 PM in response to grahamfromnorth wilkesboroby drbill53,someone said there was a fix by downloading 10.5.0.142 from apple.com...
I did it and it music still sounds robotic on iTunes. someone previously said to uninstall everything and then go to www.filehippo.com_itunes_32/10448 to download the previous version.
i'm ready to do that when i have a chance if they haven't fixed it by then.
