Lots of album art not showing up using iTunes Match. Seems they are getting lost "in the cloud". Any solutions?

Artwork always was the last thing to show up on your other devices/computers that you connected to iTunes Match.  During the beta, sometimes it would take a few hours before everything would be there.  If you want to force the artwork to your device, play or download the first song of the album.  Not the best solution in the world, but outside of just waiting for the "cloud" to decide to send it to you, that is all I could figure out while testing during the beta period.

Another way would be to turn off iTunes Match, wait a few minutes, then turn it back on.  However, when I tried that, sometimes it would give me the artwork that was missing before, but artwork that was there would be missing.

Bottom line is, if your original file had artwork attached to it, it is there in the cloud.  Now getting the cloud to decide to send it to you is either a waiting game or play/download a song to force it.

Even play/download doesn't work on my iPad 2 or my iPhone 4S.  My beta experience WRT album art was the same as yours and missing album artwork continues with the public release.

It doesn't seem to be 'lag in download' problem, it seems to be an iCloud problem as the same albums on both my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 have missing artwork.

This is particularly a problem with the music app on the iPad 2 as its UI has been rewritten to put more of the interface focus on the artwork.

I found a way to add artwork to music simply,

Because so many people have had so much trouble doing this I made a YouTube video.

Watch it if you like and leave a comment if it was useful - Thanks
