It is available from the LaCie web site, but of you go to Support in the web interface of your NWSpace2, it will detect the update automatically.

unfortunately, it does not work for me. According to ftp://email@example.comfirstname.lastname@example.org/1.0/prod with password networkspace2 there is no 2.1.1 directory. This is the official directory for updating the lacie network space 2 product.

indeed, where is the update link from the lacie website?
i can't update it from the dashboard, cause it's stuck on 1.0.2 and there is no other downloadable update capsule...

Seems LaCie have removed it from their site (!?). It was there a little bit over a week ago. I downloaded it, and the iTunes 10.5 problem has been solved for me. (running firmware version 2.1.1)

Nice try !
I have applied this firmware from the LaCie Network Assistant Updater. Everything seems to work until the end of the update phase (3 of 3) where a panel tells you that "there was a problem with you upgrade, you might have to reinstall it". Done twice without success. May be this is why this capsule has disappeared from their website...

So i can confirm myself, that this is a working update capsule for the:

Time Machine is still everytime asking for username and password. So automatic Time Machine backup is not working.

Answer from support Lacie. I have to use openshare for timemachine and not myshare.

The solution proposed by Lacie support was to use SMB temporarily while the new capsule was prepared and published (2.1.X), well the capsule became available on Nov. 17 from Lacie website.
My plain advise is not to perform this update as it contains an implementation of AFP that is unstable, inconsistent and slow, in addition the firmware update process moved all my files/folders into a Recovery folder available only to admin "MyShare" (no previous warning from Tech Sup). I spent the last two days trying to get my information back into place, as I use User Shares and all my files were in a different location than MyShare.
While copying 60GB of files I had several different errors, but not once I managed to copy all my files. The process was giving my false information, as it would finish without reporting any error but many of the folders copied were completely empty, checking the source would show the same status (0 files) and only after disconnecting and connecting again, the content of the folder would be shown.
You would do much better waiting for a better release of the firmware, using the work around explained here or simply buying a new HD and using SMB to transfer all your files. Additionally, if you don't fancy TimeMachine, SMB seems to be stable enough to be used instead of AFP.

I mistakenly left the version as 2.1.x when it is in fact 2.1.2. As I said before, don't go for this upgrade, it gave me headaches. Afp is unusable in this version, I wouldn't trust time machine backups under this version neither. Just read what I wrote before.
