Hi

Just mistakenly upgraded my Mobile me account to iCloud only to realise my 10.5.8 iMac doesn't support it. - i don't think.

So am i right in thinking my contacts and iCal won;t sync with my iCloud?

How can i export my contacts off the iMac to my iCloud or iPhone?

iCloud has caused many problems that it fixed. Now our family can;t sync all our iCals becasue some of the iMacs won;t run iCloud

help pleeeeease!!!

can anyone shed any light? at least to confirm what i think i know

Your Macs need to be running OS X Lion 10.7.2 to sync with iCloud as noted on the iCloud web pages.

Like jenkinstoby, I still have OS 10.5.8.  I don't plan to upgrade

to Lion.  I have a me.com account and a gallery webpage.  How

will I get my mail now...?  Up to now, I had a POP setup, and I

could access my email thru my MAIL app.  Will that still obtain?

Now you get it the same as before. MobileMe is not going anywhere until June 30th 2012, so you have 7 months to decide what to do.

If you don't move to iCloud by then you'll lose yoru account.

not sure but best to check in the the genius bar. But don't upgrade to lion. it's hopeless. just check the comments about the iCal. it's a nightmare

I have no plans to upgrade to Lion.  I don't like the reviews I've seen.

Clearly, I'll lose my email after June 30.  Ah, well...

However, I did "move" my me account to icloud yesterday before I

knew what I was doing (I'm computer-impaired <g>), so is there

any way to move it back?  Or can I still access stuff despite my move?

i'm not sure, but i think you can still access from icloud

good luck and let's hope this is a design glitch related to the steve jobs departure and not a sign of things to come

Did you actually go to http://me.com/move and migrate there? - and was it successful, despite your not having Lion? (confirmation of this would be useful).

If neither was the case your email wouldn't have moved - have you confirmed that it's no longer available vie MobileMe?

If you did indeed migrate successfully you won't be able to sync your calendars, bookmarks or contacts. You can access your email in the Mail application by removing the MobileMe account and setting up the iCloud account manually - the server settings are given here:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864

You can still access email and the other items at http://icloud.com

Yes, I actually went to the "move" page, and clicked all the right buttons.

However, I was able to get some me.com mail this morning thru my POP

settings, so I have no idea what's going on.

As for Lion, I don't want it.  I may force myself to put it on my laptop, but

I'm really not interested.  I love my Leopard, don't like Snow Leopard, and

    really don't like Lion.  Sigh...

    But I don't synch anything (wouldn't know how! <g>), so I guess I'll hang

around in Leopard until it looks hopeless...

Thanks for *all* the feedback, everyone!
