Q: iTunes store temporarily unavailable?

I am getting the following message when I click to open the iTunes store:

"We could not complete your iTunes store request. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thank you.

Thank you so much, that method worked for me, too.

I haven't been able to get to the iTunes store directly for months, but it was never a real problem because I could still search for songs and buy music. But I got some iTunes gift cards today, and I couldn't redeem them without going to the iTunes store homepage where the Redeem link is located.

I 'm still running iTunes 7.6.2.9 since I my only Apple product is an iPod Nano and so I don't need the latest iTunes bloatware infesting my PC.

For about a day now I have been unable to connect to the store from within any application. No response yet to the email support request I sent yesterday, but I just spoke with a customer service rep who knew less about possible solutions than I do. =\

+i can access the Itunes Store by simply clicking on the Podcasts link, under Library on the left hand toolbar. This presents me a black page but no error. Then i click the Podcasts Directory link at the bottom right+

Works for me too. Thanks for posting this. In fact, when I click on Podcasts, I get a perfectly good page. (Perhaps you don't have any podcasts?) How bizarre.

I was having the same issues as many others here, with an iPad 2 3G 64GB (Black).  I replaced my Netgear WNDR3700 router with a Cisco Linksys E4200 router and haven't dropped a connection since.

    This worked for me:

    http://groups.google.com/group/g-books/browse_thread/thread/1c42cb605ab4ea82

I had to "sign in/create new acct/cancel" twice in order for it to work but the store is now normally accessible.

Haven't been able to get into the store for months.  Paid for several songs, but can't download them.  I'm dropping ITune.

Under Edit/Preferences check to be sure the ITunes store disable box is not checked.  That's how I solved my problem.

So I've been having this "Itunes store unavailable" type deal for awhile now and I've contacted Itunes 4 times over it and they keep blaming my internet connection, which is virtually impossible because my mom had an available download on her Itunes account that is ALSO on my laptop and I was successfully able to download hers without a problem and yet I have 5 downloads, including a movie because Flixster is a POS that won't download, not to mention the fact that I have tried it at multiple different locations that has wireless connections and I get the same bs. I've unisntalled Itunes and Quicktime multiple times, updated ALL Windows Updates, turned off and on the firewall and flushed the dns or whatever other suggestions are that people have made and yet I'm STILL getting told it's because I don't have a direct connection to the internet and am running off my own wireless that is right beside my laptop. Does anybody have any suggestions at all on how to rectify this before I make a slight fool of myself by getting ****** off and yelled at by an Apple consultant again?

So, having the same issue - updated my iPhone OS - still same problem can't get into iTunes - but do see a notice in iTunes via iPhone that says: "Your iPhone software is up to date. iTunes will automtacially check for an update again on 12/9/11."

Hmmm, maybe the fix is in the works....untill then I have purchased items "stuck" somewhere as my phone tells me to log into iTunes but I can't access iTunes to correct the situation... Argh!

I was getting this too, I was trying to download a free app and it kept wanting me to update my billing info. So it would take me to the entry form (on computer), I would enter it all and hit done and it would come up with this error. So I started looking in my iPod  and found where my Apple id was on the device and updated the information on the touch. Then when I went to download the same app, it worked!
