this is driving me up the wall.  i have deselected the option to keep windows when quitting applications, so that when i hit the option key, command-Q changes to "quit and keep windows".  but the application "grab" totally ignores this setting.  it ALWAYS keeps windows, which makes it almost impossible to use because every time it opens, all of the previous grab windows pop back up.  i literally have to close them one at a time, each time clicking a button to not save. the way i use grab, i typically grab a dozen or more different windows in every session.  please help!  is this just a bug in grab, or am i missing something?

thanks.

I don't know how to resolve the issue of Grab re-opening windows, but as far as a quick way to close the ones that do open -

Hold down Option while clicking the close button for one of the windows, and they all should close.

If you'd rather stay on the keyboard, Command-Delete is the same as clicking the "Don't Save" button.

    From the OP's original post,

i have deselected the option to keep windows when quitting applications, so that when i hit the option key, command-Q changes to "quit and keep windows".

it would appear he has already unchecked that item - that's why I did not mention it.

For Grab, Launch /Applications/Utilities/Terminal and at the prompt copy & paste this command

defaults write com.apple.Grab NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false

    Press return.

    Relaunch Grab and test.

    Did you copy/paste the command?

Did you get any output when you ran the command, or did it run fine and return to commnd line?
