Has anyone noticed the displayed battery percentage being incorrect?
I've seen a couple of examples. Once when I let my iPhone 4S drain down to 1% and then continued to use a GPS app for another 20 minutes until the phone turned off. Another example was last night when my iPhone 4S charged up to full at 96% (notice the plug ni the battery indicator).

I did that last week.
Well, there is no other setting/procedure to recalibrate the battery. I would not recommend going through the option of restoring as a new device, but if it bothers you that much, that's your only option left.
I fixed it by doing a reset on the phone, but it happens more frequently than I'd like on my iPhone 4S. It might be related to Springboard crashes (which also happen occasionally). The phone is not jailbroken.

this happened to me today.
FYI, you have to restore via iTunes. connect your iphone and do a restore.
this will resolve the issue since it will reinstall ios5.01.
hopefully this problem will be resolved in next update 5.1
This was happening to me - i charge my iphone 4s whilst i was sleeping wake up and it will always be 93% charged. So i let my phone fully drain twice, and now its working fine. There is a more technical term for this but i cant find the article.
hey morac, could you please specify what reset you're referring to, and each step in order to fix the problem?
I have been experiencing the same problem, although I am currently using newest iOS on my iphone 4s 64gb. I have tried battery calibration and restore but they don't work out for me. thanks!
additional info:
after recalibration my battery able to fully charge to 100%. but the percentage indicator still inaccurate. I compare it to my battery+ app. when the indicator shows fully charged, in contrary the battery app still shows the battery charge not done yet and need less than an hour to fully charge. so the question here is how to get the software percentage indicator back to be accurate again.
