Just received an email from the above address asking for confirmation of details, after I ordered my iPhone 4S just a few hours ago, it has my card name and order number in the email, but it seems a bit dodgy? Should I ignore it? It doesn't seem like an "official apple email"

iPhone 4S, iOS 5

I can tell you this, the following is a legitimate Apple link, so why don't you call customer service & ask:

I have received a similar email. They want an email with a photo of my passport and credit card. The only thing that make sme think that it is not a scam is that is so extremely unprofessional that a scam artsit would not dream of gettign aways with it.

I have written to them 3 times and got no reply. I am getting very worried, because after reading these discussions I sent what they asked for. Also, I my order status has not changed.

Can some let me know if, in fact, it is not a scam (for sure) I am abroad and blocking my card would be a serious problem.

Apple really should do something about this. Apart form being unprofessional and totaly ridiculous to ask for such things, it does not appear to be incredible secure!

Ironically, the email stipulates, this is for reasons of security.

So, again, please let me know if this dodgy practice turn out ok in the end.
