Nov 30, 2011 10:08 AM in response to tjwd20by U2SockMonkey,Well, just got another response from the Apple engineers in response to the information I sent them (at their request) a couple weeks ago. Their response states that it is indeed a known bug and that they are working on a fix. No ETA or anything like that was included.

Nov 30, 2011 10:24 AM in response to U2SockMonkeyby John Lehmkuhl,I will take this as very good news, Bob. I'm sure it is a complicated issue - however, I hope they have something ready for 5.1 or I'll be more than a little bummed.

Nov 30, 2011 12:05 PM in response to tjwd20by Prana117,Still loosing the connection after a few seconds. :/
If this bug is not fixed under 5.1 I'm going to return the iPhone 4S and Zeppelin Air. Not working with my Windows PC AND my iPhone 4S is definitely not acceptable.

Nov 30, 2011 2:12 PM in response to Prana117by stefanator,I bought a Zeppelin Air Play last Friday, too. I have exactly the same problems: I have to reboot my WLAN router every 10s when I use the iPhone 4S! ...And I had the second self-discharge in 4 weeks! Very disappointing Apple!!

Dec 1, 2011 1:50 AM in response to tjwd20by mat-c,I just got the info that iOS 5.1 beta 1 is not fixing the issue. Let´s hope there will be another beta. So it´s even more important to report this bug at http://www.apple.com/feedback to let Apple know that not only a few customers are experiencing this problem.

Dec 1, 2011 9:17 PM in response to tjwd20by A.Wu,Got a brand new Zeppelin Air today and I was really excited about the sound quality, until my iPhone 4S screwed my mood. I almost went back to shop for a replacement until I research and found this thread.
Guys please feedback this to apple @ http://www.apple.com/feedback so that it can be resovle asap.

Dec 2, 2011 10:55 AM in response to A.Wuby nasper70,Before: iPhone 4S + AirPort Express on Swisscom WIFI (b) = crash with AirPlay!
After: new WIFI with Time Capsule (n) + 4S + AirPort Express = working AirPlay
So...maybe WIFI type n is better and more compatible with 4S!

Dec 2, 2011 10:59 AM in response to GH02by wdowell1804,interesting obvsevation GH02
Sadly, I cant change my modem / router - it's an ISP one which also provides my IP TV.. And im not sure what the Zeppelin Air has in the way of bands.

Dec 2, 2011 12:35 PM in response to wdowell1804by GH02,Fascinating story wdowell1804. Here's an interesting observation; the 4s itself is the only common denominator, so maybe this is a hardware issue and not fixable by software update. Apple aren't going to acknowledge that.

Dec 2, 2011 2:20 PM in response to nasper70by Jizzo,I'm confused, I thought the the phone is communicating with the Airplay reciever (Zeppelin, airport express, etc), not the isp/wireless router. Can't one configure a wireless network between a Zeppelin and an iphone with no isp, or am I wrong about this?
I have thought about compatibility too, since my issue is with iP4S + AP Express (g). I was considering buying an apple TV (n) or a new AP express (n). But it appears this issue is more complex.

Dec 2, 2011 3:23 PM in response to Jizzoby Jizzo,Thinking about this some more, I'm betting the following configurations dont work:
4S --)) Incompatable Router --)) Zeppelin Air
4S --)) Incompatable Router --- or --)) AP Express---stereo
And these do:
4S --)) Compatable Router --)) Zeppelin Air
4S --)) AP Express --)) Zeppelin Air
4S --)) Compatable Router --)) AP Express---Stereo
4S --)) AP Express---Stereo and any Router
--- hard wired
--)) wireless

Dec 2, 2011 3:39 PM in response to Jizzoby teasethedog,4S --)) Compatable Router --)) AP Express---Stereo
Nope. This is my configuration, and it knocks down the whole network.
-
Dec 2, 2011 3:53 PM in response to teasethedogby Jizzo,Then your configuration is probably this:
4S --)) Incompatable Router --)) AP Express---stereo

Dec 2, 2011 3:58 PM in response to Jizzoby Jizzo,I'm willing to bet everbody who connect their phone's wifi to an Apple wireless system (Express/Time Capule) are golden.
Everyone else is suspestable to a conflict with a third party router. I have an Express but my phone connect to the ISP gateway. I'll switch to connect to the AP Express tonight and report back.
