I just bought Pages for Lion - I already had it for the iPad and iPhone. How can I see my documents (which are in the iCloud) on my Mac mini now? I cannot find them! All is fine between iPad and iPhone.

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

Go to www.icloud.com sign in and download the documents from the documents tab.

It would be nice if that were the case but the iPhone/iPad version of pages is limited and doesn't have the same functionality. Make sure if you are transfering documents between the devices you are using fonts and formats compatible with the iOS version of Pages. If not when you import a document created on the Mac into iPad or iPhone the font might change or the layout might change.

The desktop/Mac OS X versions of the iWork apps have not been updated to take advantage of iCloud yet. In the meantime you can go to iCloud.com, sign in & click the iWork icon where you can upload & download files. You could also try e-mail or Dropbox. Hopefully we will see those updates, maybe even a whole new version of iWork, soon.

You didn't misunderstand it. That is exactly what Apple's implying you can do; the last version of Lion and the current version of Pages is what's needed for fully syncing instead of the manual, pain in the *** system -- which is actually worse than DropBox, Google, SkyDrive (Micro$oft!), for three examples.
